This is a lot of money for someone I know little about, so I do have some concerns. He looks like the sort of midfielder we really do need, but until I see him play consistently well then I'm a bit worried about the fee.

Be surprised if it's anything else but 20% on the profit. If it was on the whole fee and we sold him for anything less than around £40m we'd be losing money on the deal plus never heard of any sell on deals being based on the whole fee to be honest.
