Am I bitter?

Doubtless, ALL football clubs have a quota of feral, socially maladjusted 'supporters'. Liverpool FC however, does seem to attract a disproportionately large number of these types. A desperate hysteria pervades Anfield affecting large swathes of the home crowd who thus transform into characters resembling the angry hordes in the movie 28 Days Later.
There is SO much feverish anger in that stadium...
....and desperation

The word you're looking for is "cult". They are cultists.

I can live with them calling us bitter, they already do it 24/7 anyway. I would go as far as saying I would quite enjoy it if they were foaming at the mouth calling us bitter all summer, as it would probably be a sign Stevie G lad really did feck it up for them yesterday.

What would be a lot harder to take would them, after trying to remain classy and dignified for about 30 seconds, burst into mocking us for handing them the title for the next 20 years.

I've watched the last two Anfield derbies in the pub. I'll be thinking of some of the Reds I've encountered on those occasions and the class, dignity, humility, magnanimity that they displayed, on Saturday night.

The number of reds who have told me I'm bitter because I don't want them to win the league is really starting to get on my tits. I've tried to explain that I don't want them to win it because they're our local rivals and it's nothing to do with bitterness but they genuinely aren't having it.

Is it bitter though? Would they really be supporting us if the roles were reversed, like so many of them are claiming?
I thought I was the only one who felt like this. I take my hat off to you sir. Well in

How is everything they ever do a p1ssing contest? Flags, wearing the full kit around town - on non-match days - even wearing other LFC apparel on a Tuesday afternoon out. I see 1892 rubbish and LFC jackets (black ones with Liver Bird) all over the place? Does wearing this confer a sort of special status on them? Even if my work position allowed me to walk around in Everton apparel any day of the week I wouldn't do it, not because I'm not a full-time life-long Evertonian but because there's a time and a place.

Why is the Royal Court's YNWA play poster still on display fully a month after the play ended? The "special" reason is because they just have to show their colours for everyone to see all the time? It's the same mentality that leads them to be different. It's great to show your colours actually but, right in my Evertonian face?, no thanks.. actually no, again.

And then again we're treated to a plethora of ex-RS media pundits - even at Everton games? How so? Good team - sure, only team ever? - not likely.

They apologise for nothing - not even the stolen points (Clattenburg - that finished any thoughts of accepting them for me - ok, the referee has messed up really badly, and I'm still wounded about it - but, no chance of any humility from them, skulking off to celebrate quietly).. it's the same old, same old "you're bitter blues BS.." WELL ACTUALLY I have every right, your lot get every decision that swings games - even allowing for the odd one in the past couple of seasons where we've been saved from that ignominy - ten wrongs don't make one more wrong right when it isn't in your favour - when it's not McAllister stealing 10 yards and scoring a last minute winner, Clive Thomas, Atkinson, Poll, Suarez, Suarez, Suarez.. Innocent that lad was.. not me with the Bucharest flag mate, Alan Hansen handballs, Gary Ablett penalty call.. Distin disallowed.

And where's the humility to admit the Starfish got them their Euro triumphs? The dodgy penalty in Istanbul? The offside 4-0 goal? Not a chance.. Whereas I know we'd be celebrating just as hard but with a certain frisson of guilt (laughing up our sleeves about it, no doubt, but guilt nonetheless) - you only have to look at a certain want-away Uruguayan for modern day comparisons - not even a scintilla of an admission that the Evra situation or the Ivanovic one was his fault - go wear your t-shirts, do your protests, threaten your footballers with all sorts if they move to Chelsea - don't give a flying ****.

And, for the record, we're not some small clan from Walton Lane.. in fact many of us are more erudite, travelled and objective than many of the random no-marks who follow the trendy, world-loved, everyone's second favourite team.

So suck on it Kopites - I was just about willing to accept your lot winning it (cos there's sod all squared I could do about it) but now I can see the whole thing for a charade - you want us to save you? Learn to ask nicely - and while you're at it, here's 50 pence to go tell someone who gives a ****.. or put it towards that respray for the 19th Title Bus...

I'm very bitter but justifiably so. Along with all the usual stuff (Clive Thomas in 77, Clattenburg, Handball Hansen) has anyone considered this (stay with me it might take a while);
When we qualified for the CL in 2005 they didn't, but they bleated about 'the right to defend the cup'. Strange how they never mentioned it at the beginning of the competition. Now I know of no other occasion when the rules of a competition have been changed retrospectively (smacks of the kid threatening to go home and take his ball with him)! When they were allowed in and seeded it meant that the whole of the draw for the qualifying round changed (they had taken another seeds place) and we ended up with (possibly) the toughest draw. Paranoid? Yes, but it doesn't mean they're not out to get me!

Same as us missing out on the Fairs Cup in the 60s - thanks to them.

Regardless of what their trying to say about it being a successful season anyway, exceeded their targets etc, you just KNOW that this will crush them, their fans, their hopes, their dreams, and their players morale and confidence especially stevie gee larrr, they could go from 'on the verge of a new dynasty like lar der kidda' to absolute implosion at crumbling at the last hurdle the way Newcastle never really recovered from it

The difference in recruiting players to play for Liverpool FC - premier league champs, and playing for Liverpool FC not won the title in 25 years and failed when it was int heir own hands with 3 games left cannot be understated

and the fact that it can be US who deny them what they desire the most, well lets just call it a little fraction of the payback for that Heysel ban

If arsenal win tonight I'd happily lose to city.

Them winning the league would be insufferable. Already seen people on social media from far flung places spouting rubbish like "win the league for the 96" etc etc. So many of them crawling out of the woodwork.

I don't want them fast tracking their stadium expansion plans, I dont want them buying better players. For one it damages us commercially as we're always compared with them. Why would we want a rival getting significantly richer? If city or chelsea win, it wont make an ounce of difference as they spend a ridiculous amounts whatever the situation is.

This is their golden chance to win it, probably their only chance. No European football, rivals all having a change of management and their star player injury free throughout the season. If they won they could potentially kick on and years of this would be intolerable.

It's not bitter, it's totally understandable, i'm hating the fact that they are going to win it but at the same time, you can't say they have fluked it, they deserve it and it grates but that's the situation.

It's also quite embarrassing reading some of the replies on here, Some of you are beyond bitter.
