Allardyce axed after Leicester

Our fans don't seem to grasp the situation that we're in.

We didn't go for Sam because he's the best candidate, we went for him because noone wants to manage us. Sacking him won't bring in a top manager, if anything it'll make the few that could be interested put off even more.

4 managers in a season, a team that aren't playing for anyone, players that seem deeply unhappy.

You'd have to be mad/desperate/looking for money to manage us.

I don’t think that is the case, though.

It seems pretty certain Silva wanted to come to us but Watford would not allow it.

I think Dyche would have very willingly came.

So whilst I take your point about no “top manager” being willing to come here just at this moment in time, and adding that I don’t think firing Sam is either imminent, sensible or particularly desirable right now, I think it is totally wrong to think no one else wants to manage us :)

It is absolute nonsense to say that no top manager would want to come to Everton.

The exact opposite is true. Good managers are at the top because they have ability and a belief in that ability.

Everton are still regarded as a big club with a big fan base and more importantly a club which seems to have big ambitions.
Everton have backed their managers always as best they could at the time in the transfer market.
Everton are a club that like to give their managers support and the last two have lost their jobs because of an absolute meltdown in the team over several months.

It is a hugely attractive club, loyal, passionate fan base and in spite of one really poor season there is potential to progress the club.

As much as I hate him sacking him won’t achieve anything this season it’s over.

What we have to do though is let him go, Walsh go and anyone else other than Unsworth and his squad of coaches.

We simply need a fresh start but for now let’s get 40 points then we can make it clear what we thinking of anti football

I will say it then, the way the club were before and after RK which top manager would leave their existing club and come to Everton, give us names not dreams.

No one wants to manage us?

Or every single professional football manager in the world, apart from maybe the top 20, would absolutely jump at the chance?

Manage in the prem- good
6mil a year- yeah, I’d take training for that much
Money to bring in players- yes, lots. So much it seems we don’t know how to spend it.

Not exactly the worst gig in football is it?

I genuinely think Allardyce was worried about actually having to manage us next season. It’s blatently obvious he just wants his payoff in May. 18months pay for 6 months work. He’s not stupid.

Probably has slacked off a bit to make sure he doesn’t do too well.

The whole situation reminds me of Spud’s job interview in trainspotting. He wants to do well enough to preserve his never-been-relegated status, but do too well and he might have to manage us beyond May and actually work for the last 12 months of his wages.

Well, that is what I would love to think and all.

Yet here we sit.......with Big Sam in charge :(

And that after a six week search in which the club’s first choice was a man with a none too impressive CV during his time in England.

However.

I do take your point that we could do better than Sam, Silva, Dyche et al.

But I think the big problem with the last manager hunt was timing.

Middle of the season is a bad time to be hunting a new, top class manager.

Especially when the team approaching him is in a relegation fight.

Which is why I am totally against the idea of firing Sam before May (unless our position becomes really perilous:()

Once this season is out the way then, assuming we survive, the field of contenders will widen and we should be able to pluck the fruit from the higher branches.

I am 100& with you on this one mate ;)

, back in the late 70,s , I despised Gordon Lee as did a number of Evertonians but the supporters I knew never would dream of wanting Everton to lose to get him shunted , or look at rehashing a rendition of " We All Hate Leeds - TO We all Hate Lee and Lee - we all ******* hate Lee
Indeed...some of our present "supporters" just think sacking a manager after a few games is the answer. End of season we can possibly review the situation and get rid of SA, providing the board have a decent replacement lined up...but will not happen until then imo. Even so does anyone trust our board to appoint anyone half decent with their awful track record over the last few years?? I certainly don't.

How can anybody give names ?
How do I know who would be interested or not... that argument makes zero sense. I could suggest Simeone, Wenger, Emery and you could say that is ridiculous but how does either of us know ?

But, I will give an instance. Marco Silva was doing really well at Watford and yet Everton expressed an interest and he wanted to come immediately.
Things have changed for him so quickly but just a few short weeks ago Marco Silva was the manager on eveybodys lips.

Get him out before Leicester. Why wait another 6 days when we all know exactly what sort dinosaur football the fat corrupt beaut will serve up.

You wouldn't walk into McDonald's and expect an Indian. So why have we appointed Allardyce and expected football?

you might if you were in Bombay......no chance of getting a Big Mac in India :(
