This small minded view invalidates many of your other (occasionally) interesting counterpoints.
Give it a rest Dave FFS.
It's the very reverse of small minded, it's broad minded: an ability to locate the world of football and its importance in relation to what we're all facing.

I have to clarify though: I am made up Carlo has got this club in his grip now and injecting quality and real professional organisation. THAT I am still interested in. As for the current season though, it's bogus.

It is small minded because you are choosing to focus on 1 thing only. I think we all understand that we are living in tough times and that the pandemic is much more important than football. That doesn't mean that we should stop living or enjoying the little things that bring joy to our lives. There is a world where there is a pandemic and where we still enjoy the small things. I don't feel guilty about enjoying a donut, or a movie, or a football match just because there is a pandemic. Otherwise I would go crazy

I agree with this view.

I must admit in March / April I was pretty much in the Davek camp - that football was irrelevant.

However the longer this thing goes on the more I look to other things to give me pleasure and hope.

Right now Everton is doing wonders for me , long may it continue.
