I'd have taken Allan's mother over Tom Davies in midfield, so to get an actual decent player in is just a bonus to me.

We can't mess around with unproven signings given the state of the options we have in midfield. Allan is a great signing.

It just has to work. We've seen what happens with the likes of Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin when it doesn't work.
