One thing for me is he looks like he’s doing the bread and butter things better. Playing the ball rather than carrying it too long and he looks fitter and is working harder. Managers make a big difference to a players confidence and I don’t think Ancelloti fancied him. Benitez appears to have simplified his game and it’s currently reaping rewards. I hope it continues because I don’t think he’s a bad influence in the squad. He can be useful and his stock rises.

Anyone who is trying to defend this waste of cash clearly lives in a land of lollipop lanes and glitter dreams. 111 will help you as the issues run deep!

Yes, he was massively over priced. Yes, he was a panic buy, and yes he has been pretty awful for most of his time here - the away game last year at Southampton was probably the worst performance I can remember seeing from an outfield player.

However, there were a few glimpses last year, and to be fair to him he was pretty decent off the bench against Soton, was pretty decent against Leeds and was pretty decent last night. I'm prepared to give him a chance as its in no-ones benefit if he keeps playing badly and is clearly a confidence player who needs direction.

He is what he has always been, he was a squad player at Arsenal and he is a squad player here. We overpaid for him. Not his fault and doesn't make him absolute poo, nothing wrong with being a top league level squad player. We just flat out overpaid.

He's not going anywhere though so i wish him the best. At least he can cover a few positions.

Yes we paid way too much for him. Yes he's been largely plop so far. Would I prefer better players starting ahead of him? Yes. But he's started the season pretty well, so a bit of encouragement might actually help. Could be a useful squad player if people get off his case. And at least he's not downed tools like some other s**t***ses we've had in the squad.

Much much much prefer him to our £45m record-signing, currently unavailable, set-piece specialist. He's not going anywhere, so I'm happy to see him playing well under the new manager.

Was lively and involved. Great player. Haters having a rough time
Bloke has had his chances from me over the last two seasons. Not good enough, and a goal (like last season) against lower league opposition doesn't make him pele. I never want any player in an Everton shirt to fail but i expect it from iwobi as thats all he's done during his career here (and for most of his career at arsenal). If in six months he's still scoring and playing killer passes i might change my mind but i think I'm safe. As i said i don't hate him I'm just sick of seeing him play poorly over the last couple of years and won't be getting excited over a goal against lower leagues. It's time to move him on.
