Confirmed Signing Alex Iwobi

do you know what is stupid, is that apparently we've got £40m lying around from what we hoped would be doucoure. So we won't pay that extra so and so million for zaha (less than £40m), but want to buy zaha and iwobi at the same time? No offence, but we would just put some of that £40m towards Zaha to get the signing complete!

This exactly

Walcott is ten times better off the ball, can make runs into space, doesn't dribble into dead ends and doesn't waste time smashing or running every ball he gets out of play.

I've seen a lot of both - honestly, Walcott is in a different class to Iwobi. And Walcott has declined dramatically too and he's still leagues ahead of him.

Calling him "Arsenals' Bolasie" is on the money. Almost identical.
I disagree with nearly everything in that post but whatever everyone has their opinions

Emery sees Iwobi’s future as an 8 or 10. He got most of his minutes as a sub last year and mainly at left wing but also right wing and as second striker. His combined goals/assists per minute played compare very favourably to Bernard, Walcott and to every Zaha season per his last one. He might not kick on but he took a big step forward last year. If it is a combined £45m fee and wages for him vs. £120m combined for Zaha the data, as opposed to name recognition/fan perception, suggests Iwobi.

Absolutely not my wife is an arsenal supporter and has been begging to get rid of him for years because he is so rubbish please god no we don't need him

Yes, please. Much better player than Doucoure for 40 million, also younger and has HG status. Would immediately be our best creative player, can play as an either winger or no 10/8. Think he is really underrated.

Yep, I actually rate him and think he was improving steadily last year.
I think he's great. I think he has a similar style to Bernard but with the added benefit of actually creating stuff on his own and not just being build up/making space for others. He could play the position Gylfi plays as well if we somehow got him and Zaha.

This is where I am confused, we just don't need him. He is not the winger we have been after all summer, seems very odd.

Me too Zookie. In all the time Walcott has been here I don't think I've seen him beat a man more than a handful of times, and then go on to do something effective. All he seems to be is a cheetah running on to long balls, but no real end product. Iwobi is 23 and learning. I know "it's YouTube...:dodgy:" and all that, but in the clip posted earlier this thread Iwobi already shows 5 times the promise that Walcott has delivered to us, IMHO.
