I remember him being personally affronted that Smicer wasnt good at football and referring to the RS as "we" on more than one occasion.

As a commentator, in that it was his voice you listened to, I didnt mind him. It was what he said when he wasnt actually commentating that got on my tits. If that makes sense.

The best example was when Stallone was at Goodison, and he was referencing his car being on bricks and that. By all accounts, quite an unpleasant bloke as well.

Had to leave a Goodison derby early once and his radio commentary said “we only have to hang on for four minutes”. needless to say the blue boys were not winning

Massive ego. For some reason, the book he wrote years ago ended up in my house. It was reasonably decent to be honest, until he decided to write a chapter about Alex Ferguson.

"Ferguson slammed me in his biography" was the line that caught me eye, so I re read Fergies (excellent) first bio. Not one word about Green.

He is actually, rather odd.

Always always remember a derby in about 2002.

At Anfield Radzinski scored to put us 1-0 up and he was somewhat reserved.

Anelka equalised and he lost his head went absolutely ballistic, couldn’t believe what I was hearing, reckon I was about 10 at the time.

Ugly get too, which softens the blow.

Oh, he was also an absolute divvie at Hillsborough. Pissed a LOT of people off by all accounts. Trying to get interviews from Forest and Liverpool players and staff when the magnitude of what had happened was beginning to make itself known.
