Aiden McGeady

How on earth does this fraud of a player command a non-negative transfer fee?
Everything wrong with football. Bottom 1% of players to have pulled on the royal blue shirt.

Should have been permanently rid of him ages ago. Yet another Martinez signing who was never good enough but McGeady is really one of the worst he brought to the club. Nothing personal but he was so frustrating to watch, the one game that always sticks in my mind about him was Lille away (which I went too). Truly stunk the gaffe out that night, I remember him and Lukaku where at one point 2 on 1 with the goalkeeper and all he had to do was roll a simple pass through. Instead he hit it out for a goal-kick.

See you later.

Blimey.

If that is only half true, amazeballs.

This is actually theft

He'll do well in the championship again

Good deal fair for all involved.

He was one of the top players in the championship last season mate.

i know quite a few PNE fans and they all think the sun shines out of Aiden's arse.

The thing is, in the Championship, he gets more time on the ball than he ever did in the Premier League, and he's actually quite skillful, but not skillful or strong enough to hack it at the very highest level in England. I reckon he'll do well for S'land, but, if they bounce back, he'll struggle.

The only time he looked good for us were in the Europa League, where, again, he got more time to do his stuff. He's not a bad footballer, he's just not suited to the Premier League. Essentially he's the Irish Deulofeu.

Mentioned this before, but my mate bought his young son a new Everton shirt with McGeady printed on the back for his birthday. His son was over the moon when he opened the wrapping paper but his joy turned to tears as he seen the name on the rear.

fair play to martinez, he brought a lot of these guys in for peanuts and we're selling them on for a good profit (in transfer fees only, wages are disculded from this argument because then i don't win the discussion.)

Everyone was going mental when we signed him and cleverley for a combined fee of half a million, yet we've sold on for possibly about £12.5m profit. Which means we're sure to get around £17m-£18m for niasse.

There were a few balls he sent in, one for Kev vs West Ham iirc, that were simply sublime.

Unfortunately he often seemed to do the hard part well and then trip over his own feet doing something easy that messed with his confidence.

Wish him, and Sunderland, well.
