As an Ireland fan he often flatters to deceive, not a top 4 player imo, not as good as Pienaar who admittedly is getting old. I think he will do alright but as backup - hopefully we can get a quality winger in the summer

As posted in the Duffy thread, overall this was mostly a third or fourth choice Ireland XI who are well past wanting to be on their holidays.

Geads is looking very fit and I hope will be raring to go for EFC in August

By contrast Portugal are coming into their peak as the WC is about to start.

I wasn't talking about last night, which was by the way the worse loss we have ever had against Portugal. I've seen him on enough occasions to know he is not a top four player

I also don't think he's a top four player, but there again we aren't a top four team.

He's good enough to be challenging for a place in our starting XI, but should in no way be thought of as first choice. Needs to prove a lot first.

That said, with Pienaar having been hit by injury and getting on a bit, and Deulofeu gone, our options on the wings aren't exactly blessed. Might be the best we can offer next season with our lack of cash and desperate need for a striker.

Have mirallas, mcgeady, pienaar for Christmas the wide spots. Another winger is definitely needed ao hope the bruna rumours are true.
