Aiden McGeady

I've named him because it's the McGeady thread. Everyone else has pointed out that Jagielka and Distin, say, were poor, I was just offering another thought.

You could say that, but Coleman and McCarthy had been on the pitch for 87 minutes or whatever it was compared to McGeady's, what, 5?

You can't just say if an attack is down one side it must be the defender's fault. Goals can come from strikers giving the ball away, midfielders losing a tackle etc. Ozil was arguably at least partially fault for both of our goals today by letting Coleman go for the first one and making a half arsed attempt at chasing Lukaku in the build up for the second.
I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this. I honestly dont see past the two knuckle head CBs (maybe extend it to Coleman and McCarthy at a stretch) for those two goals. It's like saying Pienaar would be at fault on the other flank if we conceded over that side. If McGeady gave the ball directly to the opposition and we conceded, then different ball game. But he didn't.

Suppose we are.

I'm just saying there's no difference between misjudging a header, letting your man go or giving the ball away if they all result in a goal. McGeady let his man go numerous times today when he was the freshest player on the pitch, regardless of whether he was partially at fault for the goals or not.
