Aiden McGeady

I can actually think of 3 or 4 occasions when he's come off the bench and his directness and crossing ability has resulted in us scoring a goal and winning a match. Consistently miserable whenever he actually starts matches though

On the pitch, considerably better.

His contribution to Goslings goal vs Liverpool and subsequent celebration alone was better than anything the poor mans James McFadden has done.

McGeady provided Coleman's last minute winner against Cardiff the season before last, he set up Lukaku's last minute winner against West Ham a couple of months ago, he scored a decent goal against Leicester. He's done more for us than van der Meyde did in 4 years. Not saying he's ultimately good enough for us, by the way

Van Der Meyde was appaling. He had one 45 minute purple patch in a game against West Ham and that was about the sum total of his contribution.

He was a disaster on the pitch. There's no way he put in a better shift than McGeady.

This is getting seriously bizarre now.

van der Meyde had undoubted quality. Like Drenthe.

But just absolute tools.

The very fact your using van der Meyde alone as the single player worse than McGeady speaks volumes.
