Aiden McGeady

interesting stats lads alright ....but can you honestly say you think mcgeady is a good player and an asset to the club ? thats all that matters in the end ! 90% of the opinion here and in the grounds last year was he is is gash - much more real stats i think

Never been given an extended run since he's been here.

I think he'll leave, and when he does as far as I'm concerned he'll still have a question mark hanging over him as to whether he was right for us. That's down to flashes of decent play, poor play - but mostly down to lack of minutes on the pitch.

Above all that though my gripe is with the attitude of some who dismiss out of hand someone as rubbish who's quite obviously got talent, but the same people give some headless chicken like Naismith a free pass because he screws his face up like Quasi Modo and runs about like Forrest Gump. I'll never understand that thinking.

ffs Dave those last couple of lines made me seriously lol and spit my cuppa everywhere! You certainly have a way with words to get your point across ;)

Al that really shows is we don't create enough chances all together.

That's obvious.
Can somebody explain to me what the stat for a "chance" really means.I'm an old git and all of this US driven game stats thing is puzzling. So is a chance created by hoofing the ball from the half way line that lands close enough to a team mate that he might have a 50-50 chance of putting it in row Z or bursting the net,or is it putting the ball on Roms head 3 yards out with just the keeper to beat.Or if you pass to Kone on the goal line with nobody in the box with him and he as usual falls over, was that a chance.

Not comparing him to other players just asking the question. Clearly the stats show how poor the whole team was last year but for me mcgeady simply not good enough

I thought he was a good signing and that we were the perfect club for him to make an impact.
It just hasn't happened for him. He tries hard and does some good things but not nearly often enough.
I think he lacks the pace of a genuine winger and simply can't go past defenders.

I can see why he would want to leave. He runs the risk of playing a peripheral role in the squad and that would be bad news
for his international and domestic career.

I gave him a chance as well. Runs a lot but no end product ... Always been the same and will never get any better. Might do ok in championship

It's a bit nothing mate. Basically did a pass/cross lead to a goal scoring chance.

But as you say, lots of grey areas.
