Ha ha. Me toI like Sunderland, I like them even more if they buy him
Split the difference and crack open the beers! It seems we are asking for 3 mill but Sunderland are talking of 2 mill.
Except he has pace, can tackle, and has scored goals for us. Did you expect him to be Cristiano Ronaldo on a free or something?Split the difference and crack open the beers!
Awful, awful player. Possibly the worst number 7 I've seen in thirty years of supporting this club. No pace, can't tackle, no end product, no goals, can't maintain possession, nothing special in the air - what Martinez ever saw in him is beyond me. His greatest achievement for us will be the profit we make on him when he leaves.
In forty-three appearances for us he scored one goal. One.Except he has pace, can tackle, and has scored goals for us. Did you expect him to be Cristiano Ronaldo on a free or something?
Watch him play for Ireland, he tackles pretty well there, tracks back, runs fast, etc. We don't use him in any way similar to that though. In forty-three appearances for us he scored one goal. One.
He's a winger with a total of seven assists in his entire Everton career.
He has quick footwork, I'll concede that. But he is not pacy in the sense of running fast. He just isn't.
After all that, I don't even CARE if he can tackle. Even if he could (and I don't agree with you) it still wouldn't be enough.
My expectations of him have been proved pretty accurate, as it happens - I was pessimistic at the time he was signed.
Mirallas had much better stats than fatty McGeady this season.: eleven goals in thirty-six appearances, several of which were 60 minutes and then off, or twenty minutes at the end coming off the bench. Even Lennon did better, with two goals in fourteen appearances. Lennon, by the way, is pacy.Watch him play for Ireland, he tackles pretty well there, tracks back, runs fast, etc. We don't use him in any way similar to that though.
7 assists from a winger in 43 games isn't exactly great, that's true, but then again it's not like our other wingers and our attacking midfielders are blooming in those stats too? Plus in his 43 games he's played probably about 10-15 off the bench for about 30 seconds anyway, his minutes played are ridiculously low for the amount of games he's been in.
I agree with you, he hasn't been a massive success by any means and I wasn't exactly optimistic as well but had hope/expectations (which he never lived up to anyway), but let's not make him out to be satan here ffs
The injuries thing is a myth. He was offically listed as unavailable through injury for just two games this season. Hopefully a medical with Sunderland will give us more of a clue.If he was fit he would be fine , but like so many of our team he is injured - when he floated that cross in for Lukarku his last assist you can see he had the class , alas injuries have took its toll on him - good luck to him in the future, if he moves on!
How is it when he plays for his country he plays well , but is often subbed then injured for the next game? The injuries thing is a myth. He was offically listed as unavailable through injury for just two games this season. Hopefully a medical with Sunderland will give us more of a clue.
