Aiden McGeady

This thread will certainly be making a comeback in the future if McGeady were to sign.

I think that he is a player that Evertonians would love , a genuine winger with pace running at full backs and hopefully starting quick counter attacks from defensive situations.
Something not seen from an Everton team in a long time.

If fans were listened to we probably still would have Drenthe and AVM in our team.

He's really not as fast as people are making out and his crossing is average at best.

Two attributes you need as a winger and he's miles from Premier League quality.

I'd rather play Naismith.

As I have zero interest in watching Celtic, Spartak Moscow or ROI I have absolutely no opinion on him.

Looked at his stats yesterday however and they are not that impressive!

The only positive I can think of is that he'd make Everton 10x better on FIFA.

But let's be honest, there's no reputable link here. Just lazy journalism (is there any other kind?)

Have to say i'm anxious to see what kind of player Martinez wants to bring to the club, I hope the links with McGeady and a few more are just bs.

The old won't cut it in the prem argument, how many quality full backs will he come up against exactly? Geoff Cameron? Phil Bardsley? Joe Bennett? Liam Ridgewell? Joey O'Brian? This everyone who plays in the prem is good is a load of ****e.

he'll probably skin them alright, it just a pity that he's yet to ever put a decent cross into the box after 3,298 attempts

Quick and can dribble. People need to realise that not everybody in a squad is going to be perfect, at present we have noone to replace Mirallas or Pienaar if they are injured or in bad form. No brainer for me.

I'd rather see Oviedo get a game tbh.

This whole McGeady thing is interesting. At the moment he's not top of my wish list but I always got the feeling that with a bit of decent coaching and the right players around him, he could do a job. His main problem seems to be that he runs with his head down, never gives himself enough time/space to pick a good cross. Surely this can be improved with coaching, he seems to have all the stuff that comes naturally. Worth a punt at 4m in my opinion.

He's ****e and thats playing against ****e opposition for his whole career, wont cut it in the prem, would be a disaster of a signing

Scottish young player of the year, and Scottish player of the year, has played over 50 European matches for Celtic and Moscow, how many of our team can say the same?

Hes also played international football for years and played at the European Championships. I am not saying he will be as good as Kanchelskis but stop being a drama queen, he'd do alright.

I could win Scottish player of the year mate

Yes they did. Wingers by their nature are a bit hit and miss, Mirallas is hardly Mr. Consistent but most people love him. There's no harm in not having to settle for another steady player, it's not a crime to have a player with flair.
