Aiden McGeady: The Answer to all of our problems

Think he's a decent option to have on the bench, but if we can get Deulofeu in and then essentially swap McGeady with Lennon id be all for it. Mirallas, Lennon & Deulofeu as genuine wingers with Pienaar and possibly Cleverley there to cover the left side would be very strong IMO.

You're forgetting our most important Left-Midfielder...

You are all too quick to forget his magnificent 11 minute cameo appearance away against West Ham last season and the peach of a ball to lay on Romberto for his winning goal. As far as I'm concerned he should be given another season just to see if he can produce such cameos at least 5 times a season.

Surely Del is behind Geds in the pecking order

Its his place in the starting eleven for me with Del looking to play his way in

Agree, I think he offers more of an all round game, especially defensively too, be sad to see all his hard work at training forgotten about because of this new kid on the block.

Del has to earn his spot

Mcgeads has bedded in now and knows our system

I see del neededing next season to fight for a starting place

Definitely, Del's time to put the hard yards in on the training field, obviously that's been a problem for him, McGeady should be rearing to go this season, will surprise a lot of people.

Pienaar may stay a season but who knows if he will be crocked...i'd try and offload him.

Mirallas i think will go and McGeady isn't worth playing with 10 men for multiple games before he does something. Sell them both £15mil.

Deulofeu signs, we bring in a loan player and sign a top left winger with pace and skils for £15mil.

We then have two rapid attacking wingers and a loan player.

Id prefer that than McGeady/Pienaar and a Mirallas who seems to have fallen out with Martinez and cant last full 90mins.

So you want to pay another 5+ mill probably, plus wages, on another winger? Assuming we keep Mirallas, then we logically should keep McGeady and look to strengthen in at least 3 positions that need strengthening more urgently.

What's going on with McGeady? Did he play any preseason games? Was he injured?

Aiden McGeady has not featured in Everton’s pre-season campaign at all but he too is progressing well as the Club’s medical team tackle a persistent hamstring problem.

Martinez continued: “Aiden was carrying the little hamstring problem that affected him from the international game and he’s been carrying that niggle for a while. He has had a good week while we’ve been in Scotland and he’s getting to the root of the problem.

“We are quite confident that in the next two to three weeks he will show a good reaction to the treatment he’s been having.

Another hamstring! Sounds quite serious as well. Not sure what sort of role he's going to play when he comes back, especially if we sign more attacking players.
