After reading yet another article about Martinez "auditioning"...

Was watching SSN earlier on and someone was interviewing Arteta. They were talking about Everton this year and the guy interviewing asks him something like "Do you think Martinez has the potential to manage one of the big clubs challenging for the top four in the future?"

Stuff like this really annoys me. Very arrogant

yes mate, I was only joshing

Why would Martinez leaves us for them at this point? I'm not stupid enough to think we're a bigger club than them, we're not. It's just right now both are of very similar quality, it's not like he'd be walking into a job where he can go and straight away challenge for the title. Arsenal are miles away from that and even their fans (the smart ones) know it. It would take quite a few years of rebuilding before they can have a serious crack at that again.

Arsenal have far more resources than us but they've never been a club that goes and spunks a load of money on players. Ozil was the first big money signing they'd made in years and Wenger only signed him because he knew had to be seen as doing something because a lot their supporters had gotten fed up of him.

The bit about that article that annoyed me is "Martinez may need more time before he's ready to step up to a major club". He's at a major club already you melts. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton and in recent years Man City and arguably Spurs, are all major clubs in this country.

If you were talking about the Everton team with regard to the parents of the players, you could say "they're their boys"

All of them years without a trophy, the players celebrating in the changing room and taking pictures with champagne when they finished 4th last season. Selling all of their star players to Manchester City and Barcelona because the players want to win trophies and titles.

Yeah, I'm really worried about losing our manager to them after 1 season.

When Barcelona come knocking in 10 years time, I'll understand.

Edited because I can't spell..

Like any ambitious man should Martinez sees us as a stepping stone is his career.

Have we become the team where if you do alright you'll get a big job and a big fuçk off pay day?

Well, tbh, we have been a stone in that causeway. We need to change that perspective : enter Roberto Martinez.
