After reading yet another article about Martinez "auditioning"...

...for the Arsenal job on Sunday, I have one question?

If we rounded up all the footie journos and lined them up against a wall, would a jury of "our" peers really convict us?

I'm not a violent man, but the British football journalist establishment makes me want to go Hannibal Lector sometimes.

My honest opinion mate is that its a good thing for him and the squad to get these stories, whilst its just the players their heads can be turned now he has the perfect example to give them about media bullcrap by using the way hes linked when hes going nowhere as an example of how to ignore it and get on with your job

He will leave if he thinks he's not being backed by the club as promised or he thinks he has taken Everton as far as he can

I honestly think he views Everton as the prefect fit for him, a club that's been the premier team in the land on several occasions, one that's had a long fall from grace, one were he can build it back to the place it occupied before and become a legend with the fans and club, i really do think he fell in love with us, can see it when he talks about the history, he's a football man through and through and i think things like this matter to him

I don't think he will leave until he has built a lasti8ng legacy that will remain after he leaves (the academy), and his names mentioned alongside the likes of Catterick and Kendall

I think (and I mean this in the best possible way) he's too arrogant for that. I don't see him accepting that he has taken Everton as far as he can until we're at the top of the heap.

I truly believe he doesn't think we need money to win the league, I think he plans on building through the academy. If the club don't allow him to build what he wants in infrastructure and youth system, I agree, he will leave, but I really don't think he minds having a near-negative or negative net spend on player transfers.

I am sure he views the media circus of speculation around his managerial position as preposterous . In his mind he already has his dream job with all the control he craved on and off the pitch which he will get nowhere else . EVERTON FC is his dream job full stop . Hear that journos ?

My thoughts exactly stevon!

See, this is why I don't pay attention to the media.

Nothing to write about, unfashionable Everton on the up again, "let's put them in their place coz they're not from London". Funny how they weren't writing this nearer the FA Cup quarters. That was also Vs Arsenal wasn't it? When it suits.......

Ignore it all chaps.

My luck, I'd be Bruce Dern. I say no. Still, they're a bunch of bellends, aren't they? So predictable.

When the relegation pressures came at Wigan he never faltered he didn't mope around or moan about finances he just kept on the same path rescuing them till it become impossible but even then he won the cup!!

His remarkable Swansea transformation added to this extraordinary first season here gives him a free pass to any of the european monied elite right now. But he turned down Villa and Liverpool and came here because he wanted control, the Kenwright style that created the Moyes monster could ironically be our salvation with Martinez.

It's just the notorious chasm in purchasing power between us and the likes of Arsenal means we'll have to endure this sorta press I'm afraid.

Get some money in Bill, pronto.

The "potential" of Everton is still immense, all ifs and buts obviously regarding Champions League/New Ground/Investment,"if" things fell into place we would still be as "big" as anyone prob barring Man U,I'm sure Bobby brown shoes sees it,he's a wise bloke!
