AFC Bournemouth

First btw

There isn't a thread, I'm making the thread, and now teams in the league have a thread. I shall lay claim to this thread because

A) I was born there (but left when I was six, and my west Kirkby based uncle famously said me and my sister "we sound posh")

B) Mid 80s bournemouth trained on my dad's school field where he worked and we lived (this is H.Redknapp Bournemouth with pre-kopite Jamie in the squad)

C) Went to a match there when they were on the news passes buckets around because they nearly folded

D) a 2-0 win against them 2019 with Zouma and DCL scoring was my last game at Goodison

Happy international break everyone
Went to watch them at dean court home to notts county. Maybe late 80s early 90s. Was noone there went in away end and met a county fan with his dog who said he'd walked from Nottingham

Rednapp`s connection to Bournemouth is that he lives there, that`s it, he`s got nothing to do with the club at all.

No way is Frank leaving Coventry, he`s adored by their fans, he`s changed the whole mindset of the club and as @Swartzy says above, this is his chance to prove that he`s got what it takes. Whether he has or not is a different matter.

He doesn`t come across as someone who is motivated by money or ego and has time on his side.

Bigger clubs will still be there for him in the future.
He managed them.

7 defeats all season. Incredible achievement.

11,000 seater stadium, never won anything of note in their entire history, and they're completely showing up the like of Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle, etc.

Around -£100m net spend over the past 12 months, which shows unreal player trading by the club.

Sold Kerkez for £40m, brought in Truffert for less than £15m to replace him.

Sold Outtara (5 goals in 27 games this season for Brentford) for £35m, brought in Kroupi (10 goals in 28 games) at 19 years old for just over £10m to replace him.

Sold their two centre halves for over £100m and bought in one replacement for £30m and mostly played Senesi (£12m) and James Hill (£1m) bought over 3 years ago.

Unbelievable season. They have a young squad and play exciting, front-foot football—something we can only dream of seeing at Everton despite outspending them massively.

Instead of doing what Everton would do and arse around for months to find a suitable replacement, they've acted quickly to secure one of the best names on the market with a good track record using the style of football they play.

Fair play to them.

Anyone else gets them mixed up with Brentford?
Well they both begin with B, they both have a great recruitment team, they both have small capacity grounds and they both finish above Everton so I can understand your confusion. Brentford are a more direct team though, Bournemouth are a lot easier on the eye.
