You tell me how to find the uninstaller and I'll be only too glad lol.
Try renaming, if it'll let you, the one in the sys32 folder to advpack_1 and install whatever it was that you were attempting to. Are you using IE right now? If you are, you might have to close it first.

Will give it a go.
I'm guessing what it might say now is either that it's missing or the installer will crap out on you...what I'm hoping is it'll replace it once it sees it's "missing" and maybe fix your problem. We're playin' Russian Roulette here though, obviously.

I just noticed 2 Windows installers in my downloads folder that are both x86.

Not yet.
I downloaded a copy that MG suggested, but noticed it was a slightly different version.
Just need to figure out how to burn it onto disks now.
Had a guy on Ebay offer to sort me a copy, but not heard anything back for a day or so, so will chase it up.
