2017/18 Ademola Lookman

I am still unsure as to why he doesn't get more minutes.
Ok he is frustrating at times but name me one pacey winger who isn't?
As much as I like Lennon, I really do, Lookman is a more threatening player who will get us goals and stretch the opposition.

He will also loose the ball a lot more and put us under preasure. Im pretty sure he wont be a regular choise for the first team until he learns to guard the ball better and begins making better decisions. He did well against a horroble team yesterday, but if he starts against the RS, we’re screwed.

I'd have him playing either flank Zat for now just as that's how he'd fit in the team (not saying he's ready to be a guaranteed starter - he isn't imo).

But to me he's neither a winger nor a 10. He's the classic 'inside forward'.

Really, we only play with inside forwards if we go 3 at the back, with a four across the middle and then the 'two' either side of the main striker (Ross excelled in an inside forward role last season).

I think though, towards the end of the season, supposing we stick with four at the back, then I'd like to see him played centrally even if it's just for spells in a game. His pace and trickery will be really useful in that role I think.

It's interesting that imo our best two 'wingers' seem that they would be more effective 'centrally', as you say, Lookman as an 'inside left' forward and I believe Vlasic behind the front 'three'.

When you look around at the players we have coming through and who are either good enough to play or come on as subs there's a few questions about what the best formation would be to get the best out of all of them and have experienced players in certain positions to aid them.

I’d like to see him get a run of games....

It be interesting to see Rooney set back with gilfy sliding middle and this kid having a shot at out wide left.

I think what little we get to see he is trying to hard to make an impression.

He is silky on the ball.

It be nice addition of pace and Rooney playing deeper.

If we manage to sign a new striker in the window then I would like to see Lookman sent out on loan to a club that will play him in their 1st XI. Give him a chance to develop some more, before being given a full run in the pre-season friendlies.
