I think it was a good sub, home debute, young player needs a bit of protection, at that stage it looked like the game could go a bit feisty, the crowd was having a bit of a turn, get the youngster out of the way, dont forget they had just scored and the place was about to turn nasty.

Yeah good sub, he was going deeper and deeper and it wasn't helping anyone. Noticeable when he got caught out for their second just before coming off. Mirallas helped us get up the pitch a bit more.

Really wish I could have watched this game, trust Everton to score 6 when I'm not looking. That bit of skill was immense, how was his general play?

Good mate, trying a bit too hard at times to impress maybe, but ran none stop, some amazing bits of control and skill, always looking for the one two as well which is brilliant to see.

Good decision to sub him, no blame on the lad but he'd started dropping deeper and deeper to help out defensively when think he was supposed to be the outlet - hence kev coming on.

Unlucky not to score and has a shot like a mule on him, will be a very very good player for us this lad.

Good to hear. Will take a while for him to get up to the pace of 90 minutes I imagine. But he has that "look" already, doesn't he?

He does mate, absolutely shocked myself how quick and how natural he already looks at this level, looks a brilliant piece of scouting, crowds instantly taken too him as well which for a young lad must be a massive confidence boost.

...a whirlwind few weeks for the lad, good interview after yesterday's game;

To get to the next level we will need players who create and score from nothing, just like Hazzard did yesterday. That quality in the top third truly is the difference with the top 4 clubs. I'm hoping this lad will help bridge that gap, time will tell.

Lookman has the quick feet Lukaku and Barkley lack to create space when opponents sit back. That's been the one thing missing from Everton's attack since Bainaar got old.

In many ways it's nice to see that he has the skill and confidence to play such fluent, attractive football so soon after jumping up a few levels.

With time and experience, he'll hopefully to learn to utilise that talent in a more savvy way; you don't always need to do step overs etc etc.

Whether he gets to Hazards level is open to question, however he does look like he is in that mould.

What I really like for Everton though, is we have a manager now who will expect and demand they reach the highest levels. Moyes was probably a bit hard and too cautious, while Martinez probably too soft.
