I've never seen him play but I can't help but feel we've been ripped off paying 11m for a league one player. Let's hope he proves me wrong.

£7.5 or £11 mill whatever the final figure .. is absolute buttons for a young english talent

could be a flop or could be a very good prem standard winger either way we will recoup most of our money back IMO , doubled footed and good ability on the ball is a decent start

I think he will be a very good player by 21/22 if we bring him along the right way

I think (hope) most people are prepared to take in a range of opinions from as many people as possible to form their views, safe in the knowledge that they might not always be right about everything. For example, I'm not in a position to judge Lookman fairly and am prepared to admit that, so hearing from his coaches, team-mates, scouts and fans can help broaden my mind a bit.

It's pretty unhealthy to disregard the thoughts and facts provided by other, better placed sources because you are convinced your belief is the only that is true and the only one that matters. Unless you want to be leader of the free world, that is. Worked okay for him.
That's a caricature of what Im saying here.

I understand the point about being guided about what role a player is being asked to do, which can add to your own judgement about whether assessment of a player is fair or not. But when that's all taken in and computed it's your own acid test that should win the day, surely? I mean, I think it's obvious that Barkley is head and shoulders the best player at the club. Many experts will tell you that too. But it doesn't stop people here forming their own judgement and bucking the majority view and describing him as a failure. How is that any different to my claim that I know best? I would hope that we all thought we knew our own minds best and backed our own judgement on things. It's called free thought.
