Just in the games I've seen him play for us I've not seen him show any kind of stand-out quality, be it on the ball or physical and I've not been massively impressed with his end product. The number of times he gave the ball away needlessly was infuriating at times and there was nothing to make up for it. I'm not saying he can't improve, but I'm not really expecting much.

I’d say he has a far higher ceiling than the likes of DCL. The lad can make things happen, and will almost certainly improve.

Seriously though the official line is he's hurt but honestly the smart person would think something else is at play. Whether it is the club trying to avoid injury to ensure the sale or him refusing to play in order to force something, it's pretty suspicious that he has a mystery injury at the same time rumors are circulating

He’s really not that short and even if he was, some of the best players in history are “midgets.” DCL has given no indication he’s ever going to be a good finisher. Look at how he strikes a ball vs how Tosun does. It’s so different. Lookman has to learn more about how to read the game and make better decisions but he’s got all the tools you want.

DCL has a lot in his locker. Pace, aerial ability, gets others involved, you'd have to imagine he will only get stronger...which is not a weak point...for me he's slotting away from being very good. No idea if he'll make that step, but if he does he'll be very good. He's 21 ffs.

Lookman has been built into a myth at this point. He might develop further...he might not. In an Everton shirt he has been frustrating to watch. No guts to take on a defender.

And that’s is exactly why he won’t be an unbelievable player. I always say that of Denis Stracqualursi too!!! If Ashley Williams could just get his defending sorted he be great too. DCL will be a good player but he will never be a 15-20 goals a season player.

BS...DCL has loads more in his locker than Stracq ever did. He's actually good at football. Stracq is Niasse without finishing ability.

The OTT nature of DCL's critics is quite frustrating.

I know he has mate, I was exaggerating a point to make a point. To say ‘if he could just improve his finishing he’d be unbelievable’ could be said of every average striker. Being good at finishing is what separates good strikers from average ones. As I say DCL will be a decent player, but not for a top half team IMO. Certainly not for us if we’re are gonna challenge the top 4. Squad player at best.

Well I disagree. He's also got versatility to play wide. No idea why he's been under a stupid microscope whereas Lookman is made to be the second coming.

He was amazing in Germany, played left wing, centre forward and in the number 10 role. I saw pretty much every game he played over there.

Depending on the make up of our midfield I could see him thriving as a Barkley replacement with Schneiderlin / Gana as the base and him in front.

The RS had a front 4 with 2 defensive midfielders for most of the season, as long as the front 4 press it can work and Richarlison/Walcott/Lookman have all shown they can do that.

Would be gutted if he was moved on without getting a chance.

Pity we couldnt have landed Malcolm as then we'd have the attacking midfield 3 sorted long term.

I guess I'm in a small minority in thinking he's not very good at all, won't make it here and that £15m would be great business for him.

He's looked a different player for England u21s and Leipzig.

Absolute magic for England u21s...i think if you checked some highlights of his games you'd be impressed.

Hasnt shown an enormous amount for us as hes not the left winger people believe he is and isnt going to be as good as someone like Richarlison at tracking back.

His finishing will probably improve, but he’s never going to be a 15-20 goal a season forward. He will not be playing for a top 6 or 7 team when he hits his peak years. He’s not good enough. He’s a decent squad filler and maybe impact player.
