I find the certainty that he has a bad attitude to be strange. I also find the certainty that Silva (and before him Koeman and Sam) are correct in their assessment that he isn't worth starting to also be strange. I think there's a reasonable chance neither point is correct yet they are just generally accepted. It feels like people trying not to he let down when he inevitably is sold.

It's what we always do when a player leaves to be honest

All of a sudden they were never really that good

Barkley, Stones, Lukaku, Fellaini etc

Once they left they were suddenly crap

It's definitely a coping mechanism IMO

You think 2 different managers, both with different personalities have both just got rid or dropped him for no reason at all?

Seems a PROPER stretch that if you ask me.

Its not him, its us, LOL

I do find it possible that our recent string of 7th place at best managers could have all been incorrect about something yes.

He reminds me a bit of Deulofeu. There's moments with the ball at his feet that get you off your seat and make you think he should be playing more, but generally he's never been that impressive.

It'd be a shame if he goes because it would've been nice to see him get a run in the team and show everyone what he's about over a decent period of time, but I won't be that assed if he does go to Leipzig.

Look at the players you mentioned, how many of those have gone on to have the careers that was expected when they left Everton or have justified the fee paid for them ?

He doesn't work hard enough off the ball. Both defensively and to find space for a pass. He is far too static.

Until he learns the importance of a work rate with high intensity then he's not going to be a top player. But on the flip side, If the penny does drop for him, then he can be as good as he wants to be. I just don't think we're going to see the best of him here.

I'd swap Deulofeu for Lookman in a heartbeat. You'd get starts from Del,and some dynamic sub appearances. Del apparently has grown up...good interview in the Fail on Saturday. He'd score some himself, and would have a chance of getting DCL or a new striker on the score sheet, regularly.

Well it would be better than taking the word of the 16th place manager of Southampton like.
He did take an energy drink into the Champions League at one point. We still have sections of our support who treat ththe man who almost took us to the CL like some kind of footballing sage.

I think that's the biggest critique. Look at how hard Bernard works when he's not on the ball - it's amazing. That's the player Lookman needs to become. He's amazing with it. That's also my biggest critique of Henry Onyenkuru.
