I'll be gutted if he leaves, he has the potential to be brilliant. However he is lacking tat defensive side to his game, tat both Bernard and Richarlison (and tbf Walcott) have. If he can work on that (and he should do over summer) Id expect to see him more next season

Going back even further though we were sitting him on the bench and sending him on loan so that YANNICK BOLASIE could play more. Bolasie was deemed not good enough for championship Villa this season. I'm not sure how anyone could he happy in that scenario.

The view was Bolasie would be good and Lookman was raw. Bolasie turned out badly and Lookman appears to be a sulker.
I do not think for half a second that Silva has an agenda other than putting out his best team. Lookman needs to either try harder or find somewhere else. Talented player but so are many who dont push themselves hard enough to succeed in this league.

I think even those who rate lookman (me included) would struggle to argue that we should keep him if Walcott is getting games in front of him + the impact of quality like Richarlison and Bernard.

If we sold all our other wide players: Mirallas, Bolasie, Onyekuru, Walcott and Lookman + signed a wide player who can play both left/right...same level as Bernard/Richarlison then i think that would be the sensible option...and the most exciting.

I will be very frustrated if he moves on, having never played at least 5 consecutive starts for us. I'm not saying he is a great player, but I believe he could potentially become one. I never had this faith in Theo, yet he has often had a run of consecutive starts for us.

Agree the in one respect. I would have liked to have seen more of him last season and this. But his attitude in training and on the pitch hasn't always been great according to a few managers now. Plus he plays on the left that's his best position or as a number ten, he is clearly at least third choice on the left, he isn't as good on the right not a natural there. Plus in his sub appearances he hasn't done enough for me. The kid has talent but sometimes it doesn't work out for whatever reason. He's worth more than other dead wood we need to shift we can get a nice fee for him. So its to move on and sell him, bring someone in who can make more of an impact.

Think the problem is that he's not very good on the right. He's a defensive liability as well, but the bigger issue is that we have plenty of left sided players already.
