Ademola Lookman

When we had Cottee and Beardsley up front,Southall would always hoof it high straight down the middle, more often than not it would end up back in out half with the opposition on the attack. It's just the Everton way.

I would love those three playing now, they’re exactly what we need

Its about making the right pass. Not gifting possession to the opposition.
That comes with experience tho... would you rather he played the easy ball Everytime like the rest of our team? Mould him into another crab?

He, unlike many of our senior and all of our other young players , has something.

He beats men for fun, he’s two footed, immaculate first touch , great in tight areas , draws fouls, and has created enough chances and assists to be given time on the pitch to improve .

Sorry mate, I was replying to a comment about gana there.
In terms of lookman, you're right. He has many good attributes. He didn't achieve a great deal yesterday, but some of that may be due to the apathy of his colleagues. As I've stated earlier, we need to back him now. Give him a few games to bed in and prove himself, and not expect too much too soon.

Can you read this post back to yourself and then watch yesterdays game please.

Yeah I agree, he’s young and wil have games where he’s gash in all likleyhood , but he’s young and he has shown glimpses and skills which most players can’t do. Like barkley, barkley has the wow factor for a 19 yr old and he was given time, he came up earlier because of his physique, but lookman should be given a couple of years to see if he can develop into the tricky, playmaker, winger etc that he has shown glimpses of

Can you go watch his other games where he has beat his man and set up goals? He’s young and therefore inconsistent but at least he has skill and plays with a bit of bravery to try things that others don’t. Our captain takes the backwards pass every time , as does gana, Morgan and even gomes doesn’t play the ball forward much and he’s a Barca player. He may not have played well yesterday but only he and Bernard looked like they could go past a man.

But he didn't. He lost the ball too often and couldn't beat anyone. His passing was fine in that he didn't turn it over, but he didn't create anything, either.

Hard to judge any young player the way the team is performing and can't be doing with another young lad being slated, DCL gets it's too. There is plenty of seasoned pro at the club under performing and should be bearing the burden.

He’s playing what? His second start on the bounce? He’s shown enough to be given games , he can do these things and he did go round people a couple of times. But like I said he’s going to be inconsistent as he doesn’t have experience but he needs time and confidence

I get it, it's a small sample size, but he looks a lot better coming off the bench. I'd say sit one of him or Bernard and play Richy left with DCL up top.

Neither him or Bernard deserve to be dropped imo and dropping lookman after he has set up and couple and earned a chance is wrong imo. You can’t drop someone for one bad game , it ruins confidence and especially for someone young that has earned a chance , he deserves a run of games like 5-10 and with a lot of starts and full 90mins to see what he can do. Our season is not going to amount to much in all honesty so might as well blood him and see if we want to sell to RBL in the summer .
