Ademola Lookman

You're acting as though everyone has the same definition of a word. Sorry but your concepts aren't concrete. If you think he's good enough you have a funny way of insinuating that as your general tone seems to be he isn't.

You'd know all about his attitude wouldn't you? Christ.

All I said was he was not proven because he isn't by anybodies definition!

Yeah fair enough people "may" have different definitions on what makes a player proven or not but you would be in a very, very small minority if you think that playing 20 odd top flight games makes you proven and you are totally moving the goalposts to prove your point.

I do like how you have a go at me for not knowing what Lookman's attitude is like (and I don't, it was just an easy way for me to say that your attitude in this instance stinks) yet you seem to know what my attitude is regarding if Lookman is good enough (even though on pretty much every single post I have made about him I have said he has a lot of potential).

Just being honest with you. I am trying to have a discussion with you here (as are others) one where I think I am being perfectly reasonable and level headed and yet you respond with stuff like "Ugh do you even watch the Bundesliga"

I have always thought you were alright to be honest but in this instance you are acting like a weirdo.

I have to say I think this situation is different. RBL quite obviously want him, which wasn't the case with 2 of the players you've used as examples, and we know they have definitely put in formal bids. The fact that they've said they won't give up suggests that we haven't given them a categorical no, and our decision not to give Lookman a single minute of football when he may be looking for assurances that he'll play tells me that we're open to selling him if our valuation is met. Whether that will happen is another matter, but in my opinion it seems fairly clear that this deal will go ahead if RBL meet a valuation that we gave them at the start of the summer.
He was referring to Lookman wanting to leave in saying smoke, fire etc. Which is when I referred to the deals that apparently everyone was clued in on not coming off.

I personally think the reason they won't give up is because they really want him and he's proved already that he can contribute to their team heavily. However one of the quotes from Silva was "he's our present and our future" so in a storyline where everyone is concocting their own narrative I'm using Silva's comments for mine.

Didn't RBL finish 6th last year? In a terrible leauge And get knocked out of the champions leauge in the group stages? Getting beat 3-1 by porto away? The same porto that got gangbanged by liverpool? The same liverpool we played 3 times last season, drew 2 and lost 1 2-1 but you think RBL would smash us 10-0? You're off your head mate city didn't even beat us 10-0 ffs.

I've watched quite the bit of German football over the year's and it is without a doubt the worst standard of the four big leauges. It's just became one of those hipster things from what I can tell to make out like it's some amazing leauge when it's not.

Anyway I'm not arsed about the little snot now, gotten board of it. Whatever happens happens, he's gotten potential but has done sod all in this leauge. Also most of his goals and assist came from playing through the middle at RBL.
Obviously not as you've responded to this post.

And yes I definitely meant that we'd get beat 10-0 ... *sigh*. I've never even seen a 10+-0 expect this preseason I was obviously using that comment to express how much better they were last term than us and he couldn't get in here because of incompetence from the managerial staff yet played and contributed to a team that got to the quarter finals of a competition we got knocked out of at the group stages embarrassingly so.

Construct your argument how you want though.

If you've noticed me on this forum then you'll know I post differently in here than in any other thread. I'm spring loaded in here to combat the hate that gets thrown his way for no reason other than people want to believe the media so they can post their rat gifs and find the next player to tear down as our online fanbase is want to do.

Fair enough. i probably do similar with Niasse.

I have not once called him a rat etc but I do think he gets hyped up far too much as well, I don't think its good for a player to be hyped up so much (I agree that its no good when people want to bring players down either.

I think my stance was more than reasonable though. The lad has potential. If you were to change proven to potential in your argument I would totally agree with you.

I don't think its just our online fanbase by the way. It's modern society in 2018.

It's no fun when you're trying to be reasonable though :(. And yes in the generally accepted definition he's not proven but I personally believe without going over the top that he should be first person off the bench at this point in time. He will surprise many with how much he can contribute.

You could be right about it being a society wide development. Just think it's easier for people to do behind a screen as opposed to face to face.

Dunno about being the first off the bench but he should (and probably will) get more time. I think the problem with us is we are never in a solid position. If we would have kept Southampton out this week then he probably would have got his chance, as it is though it was 2-1 so he brought on DCL and Niasse who are probably a bit more combative.

His chance will come, I have no doubt about that (assuming he stays...)

Hold out for a high price, like 30m, if it doesn't come in, then keep him and make him wait for a chance to prove himself.

For once we hold the cards with a player, we have no need to sell and ATM he is decent backup.
