There's no way the club told him to do that interview and told him to unnecessarily besmirch someone else's professionalism. Whether he got suckered into the question and is either stupid enough to respond without thinking or felt the world needed to hear his opinion he's let himself, Ademola and the club down with those words. Anyone who can't see he was way out of line with this has a psychotic grudge against Ademola because someone tapping a player up made a comment trying to undermine the players value or because he didn't tear a hamstring off trying to get back a goal against a possession based side in the last 10 minutes of a meaningless game after coming off an injury. Either way the situation is getting ridiculous now and if he wasn't thinking about going before I wouldn't blame him if he was now.
The difference is we know at least one club is interested so it doesn't pay to play your hand that way, it would only weaken our negotiating position.
Our negotiating position is that he's on a longer contract. Oh, and the fact that by all accounts WE'RE NOT TRYING TO SELL HIM.

Brands and Silva has stated in their interviews they have no plans to sell him but it doesn't change the fact the club he was on loan to has repeatedly stated they wish to sign him. There must be some interest on Lookman's part for them to continue this line?

Like I said it wouldn't enhance their negotiating position if they said, "We'd like to sign him but he's likely to get time on the pitch at Everton and want to stay in England". Maybe when he didn't know if Sam was staying or not he may have said he wanted to stay but when was the last time they said he wanted to come? Early in the window if I remember right. Early enough that he may not have met with Silva more than once or twice at the most?

For evidence that the lads head isn't straight you just have to look at Silva's comments as to why he wasn't in Saturday's match day squad. He could easily have said that he's only had an hour of pre season football and wasn't match fit. Issue closed. But he didn't. He made it clear it was his choice to leave him out, didn't give any reason why he left him out, and seemed annoyed to be even discussing him. He didn't even travel with the squad.
Secondly, the fans do support him. There's been nothing but talk all summer about him wanting out, but he possibly got the biggest cheer of the day when he came on against Valencia. that's the crowd telling him we WANT him to stay mate.
And Cuco, Vlasic etc have been isolated because they aren't good enough. Simple as. Nothing to do with their attitude. Lookman is good enough and Silva has gone out of his way to state that publically, and I'm sure he's done the same privately.
I don't believe any of this crap about him going on strike. But something has definitely gone on between him and Silva for him to leave him out of the squad completely at the weekend. I don't think the situation is that serious or irretrievable, and it probably is just that Silva believes his head isn't right at the moment because he wants the RBL move.
If we do get beyond TDD I hope and expect the two of them to work things out. But to believe that everything in the camp is totally hunky dory at the moment is just burying your head mate.
I've not buried my head I've looked at all available facts. Silva making those comments and looking annoyed is another way this narrative has been tainted by negativity. How many times has he spoken on the subject and yet one of the bigger storylines he's being asked about in a valiant 2-2 draw where we fought well and Silva showed what his teams are all about is a player that wasn't even involved in his matchday squad. A player that could only get 10 minutes in a friendly a week earlier because he's been injured all preseason, whereas someone like Sandro and Niasse who have been fit and playing matches all preseason made the bench.
Whether or not you want to admit it people are looking to continually make a bigger deal of this than there is any evidence to support and I'm the one in cuckoo land? Pfft.

I'm with you in this mate. I really am. When all the nonsense about striking etc came out on Sunday I was ready to weigh in on Ademola's side. But then I saw Silva making those comments and there was no doubt in my mind that things weren't right.
You're spot on about Sharpie being out of order with those comments. Whether they are true or not, as an official club ambassador he shouldn't be making those comments about a current player.
But as regards the stories about Lookman wanting out, I've seen everything you have mate and I'm afraid I have to accept that this is sadly the case.
You seem like a good reasonable person however I maintain there's been nothing concrete to say he wants out.
