Confirmed Signing Adam Aznou

To that point, we have to be more fair in our assessments and less absolute and hyperbolic. No one on any team, even the slick 6, play above reproach for 90 minutes. Adam walked on to a big stage and stepped up as a young man and performed. He’s our player. Sometimes as fans our expectations and criticisms are at a standard no one could ever possibly meet. Let’s back the lad. He far from sucked. Seriously. We must be watching two different matches.
Absolutely. We are our own worst enemies. I mean it's easier when a team is performing to a high standard you can ease youngsters in with little pressure. But with us levels of expectation and desperation for things to get better put a lot of pressure on these type of young lads. Give them a break and let them at least settle in a few months before judging. If folk feel the need to get on our own players backs stick with the older ones who probably will just know to give you the finger inside their head.

This poor kid played a little in that third US match after flying over there late last minute to get there and barely training. And then he gets thrown in at a moment’s notice to help Myko. And that’s without stretching on the side. And he did great and wasn’t responsible for conceding anything.

And if he didn’t stand out to you today, then at least he didn’t stand out for giving up goal after goal. Last year, Keane literally was responsible for that very thing and this kid has played a total of an hour for us and people want to kick him to the curb.

There’s definitely something there and I think he was a good signing. All of what he’s done for us has been in two small matches and he’s years younger than nearly everyone on the club. He’s got my support.

It’s one of those positions alongside goalkeeper that Everton fans just have utterly bizarre expectations about. If we have a striker in the team that misses sitters or can’t trap a ball it’s no problem, wingers who don’t score or assist ah play them anyway. But if you’re a left back who isn’t prime Leighton Baines god forbid you can’t defend perfectly and also put in worldie crosses regularly whilst motoring up and down for 90 minutes.

That’s how I feel, mate. If you’re not careful, forums can make you start questioning what you’re actually seeing or make you not like a player you actually quite rate. I put Myko squarely in that category. He’s not the best but he’s solid and tough. He doesn’t concede much. He more than held his own all last season against the top strikers and wingers. Be careful not to let the rhetoric make you turn on someone you rather enjoy watching and supporting 😉.

This is absolutely not what Moyes will have wanted, Aznou being forced into starting games when he's understandably nowhere near ready. I can see Coleman starting over him, which is hilarious if you think about it.

He's got everyones support. I also think if everyone was honest they'd say they're nervous him starting against leeds now. He wouldnt be starting if mykolenko was available.
I dont think he's ready. Moyes will go safe for that reason imo. Id hate to see the lad thrown in the deep end and sink.

Quite. And let's remember how unimpressed fans were of Baines in his first month's.

I’ve also heard nothing but how poor Mykolenko has apparently been yet now he’s injured a lad from Bayern Munich who’s played out on loan in La Liga can’t possibly replace him on the evidence of less than one pre season game.

For everyone who said they’d take a few defensive mistakes to have a left back who could put a ball in and link attacking play, now is the time.

I felt that Aznou looked alright, didn't light the place up nor did he stink it out. Players adapt at different rates, he's going to be fine but we really need the opposite side sorted out or there's going to be a lot of pressure on him
