Im sorry and maybe im in a minoity here, but i find this whole thing a complete joke.

BBC NEWS | England | Charges over Sol Campbell abuse

Im all for a complete ban on racist abuse and i think in England anyway the problem has been tackled, im sure it still goes on from time to time, but im fairly sure most fans would not allow fellow fans to get away with it, thankfully it is frowned upon and long may it continue.

But this whole Campbell thing is taking things too far, they have picked out 11-12 people in a crowd of say 4,000. Im fairly sure that these people werent the only 1s to have been singing and abusing him.

Its selective policing and it totally stinks. Im fairly sure i have sang worse and abused players a lot more than these fans did, never have i sang or abused a player racially, but in my eyes everything else is fair game.

We as fans, have a right to express our anger, as long as we know the boundarys i persoanlly dont see the problem.

But as i say, maybe its just me.

Oh and i know the fans abused him with regards to his supposed and alleged homosexuality, but still, come on.......

Some things should be taboo. For example, racist chanting is bad (I remember the 80s and some of our fans were dickheads), and I don't think it is right or proper to take the piss out of disabled folk, or folk with disabled children (like some RS fans have done).

I agree. As i say as long as we as fans respect boundarys it shouldnt be a problem.

Wasnt it honophobic stuff aimed at Campbell, im all for giving players a rollicking Rooney and Barmby spring to mind, but the race, sexuality thing is just piss poor taste!

Worst abuse I ever witnessed was when Louis van Gaal was coach of Ajax. His first wife was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemo therapy. 'Fans' of Feyenoord, FC Den Haag, Utrecht and PSV, where abusing him and his wife with the diagnosis. Called here a jewish whore who was going to die.

Absolutely sickening and really made me feel ashamed to be a football fan. Things like this have no place in football should be stamped out.

Nothing wrong with some good banter though. a couple of years ago Fortuna played away at Apeldoorn. Was the last game of former Man Utd and West Ham goalie Raymond van der Gouw. The away support, didn't stop for the entire 90 minutes singing "ouwe lul" (old cock, literally translated), towards him. Pissed him off no ends and on top of that made two terrible mistakes, who gave us the victory. In the end he was just shouting back to us. So long for a nice farewell from the game you loved.

To the tune of "Lord of the Dance"

"Sol, Sol, wherever you may be
You're on the verge of lunacy
And we don't give a [Poor language removed] if you're hanging from a tree
You Judas **** with HIV."

Personally, I think its offensive from many different viewpoints. Homophobia implied ,Possible racism

Couldn't they call him a judas knobhead and be done with it?

ah well spurs getting relegated should shut some of them up.

depends whether the 'hanging on a tree' reference is interpreted as lynching as in the deep south KKK or as something else.

if its lynching then its a pretty racist song no?

of course judas knobhead could be interpreted as racist if you are really pushing the boat of how you interpret things.

I for one have shouted Judas C*** at shrek before now.

Shows how PC I am.

My point was that im sure the song was sung by more than these 11 people, i wasnt so much sticking up for them, but the whole thing stinks.

of course your right, unless they were like trained opera singers or something you wouldnt hear them - so there was obviously more.

still, they can only arrest on the grounds of unrefutable CCTV footage - maybe 11 was all they captured (as in captured on film)?

sing with something covering your mouth and they will struggle to get you, say a hand although it would muffle it some.

i cant see our end at either derby escaping criticism and possibly arrests.
