Absolute Legend Carlos Ancelotti

Why didn't it really work here? We brought in 3-4 players for him in James/etc. I get him leaving, it's Real Madrid. Where he continued to win everything. God I miss him.

But, straight up, we were absolute ass for almost a straight year. I "get" that we had substandard players that he was accustomed to. That football that was on display was some of the worst I've ever seen. You literally knew 5 minutes into a match how it was going to end. I just don't get how we just looked so so poor with internationals at almost every position.
Left us in the lurch as well don’t forget, paving the way for Benitez.

He’s clearly a great manager but I don’t go in for the adulation of him that others do.

I did at the time, mind.

Look, it's not going to happen but if Moyes stood down at the end of the season and Carlo was free after the World Cup I'd love to have him back.

If we were free of financial constraints and able to give him continued financial support to invest in the team he could be a game changer.

As I said file under "not going to happen".

His win rate is amongst the best in the clubs history. Nice to win at Anfield, too.

We didn't help him out signing players he hadn't heard of like Ben Godfrey, or Doucoure.

If Moshiri had got him earlier, we could have had some happier times.

Even his appointment shown the chaotic of Moshiris Everton. We sacked our manager when Ancelotti was still in a job. Scrabbling around in the dark.

The disparity in quality in the squad was absolutely enormous. James Rodriguez gets injured and Siggurdson comes on, Allan goes down and Tom Davies comes off the bench, Mina drops and Michael Keane trundles on.

If he’d kept his first 11 fit for most of the season we’d have probably finished in Europe but by the end he was trying to get Keane and Pony Hawk to start the build up and the two of them were treating the ball like it was a grenade about to go off. Still remember at home v Burnley under no pressure whatsoever Keane leathering it at Davies who took an almighty fat touch and we gifted Burnley their first for absolutely nothing.

Keane was one of the first names on the sheet under Carlo.

He started the majority of games under him.
