2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Yes we will, you may end up being right. But as of now he’s not nailed on. While the strong rumour is gana is about to resign. So I suppose that says who Moyes thinks is more important next season
My suspicion is that we will see multiple players re-sign, including some that will be unpalatable for many of us supporters. I strongly suspect we do not have the finances for the sort of rebuild most on here are assuming is going to happen. Look at the January window, most people expected two or three signings, instead we got one loan signing (a good deal, I accept) that needed a deal sheet to complete after the window had closed. I really hope I'm wrong but I think some peoples expectations are out of whack with reality. So, if we can't sign nine or ten players and our contract situation is that we will only have 12 or 13 players on contract after season's end it is rational to assume there will be a number of renewals. Maybe we'll sign nine players and I'll look like a berk, I hope so, but I think it's less likely than the scenario I've proposed. We'll see.

P.S. Moyes keeps selecting Doucoure whenever he's available, I think that also tells us something about who he thinks is important.

His only option is doucoure or alcaraz and maybe v Man Utd he wanted his experience, he probably picks him tomorrow. But I think that changes we were safe and ndaiye is back. We were still hampered by PSR till June 30th Moyes mentioned one more payment. But from July the 1st financially we should be in a much bette place. And January is a tough window and Nuamah was in the bag and Moyes pulled the plug
We should comfortably have 40/50 mil to play With, which could equal 200mil. I don’t think we will spend that, but I think we could. Also has Moyes moved on from dithering Dave, we will find out soon enough

We badly need another goalscorer in the front 4 and fullbacks. Maybe Moyes decides to go the winger at wingback route once McNeil gets back or we get someone/players in the off-season, but those 2 are a must. I can't see us switching from the back 3 as it has been killer for us so we should be looking into a rotational center back to add to the mix as well. I think it's set in stone that we will make some disappointing signings just to fill the gaps next year. We have a decent enough first team but we don't have a squad at all.

The line about Moyes wanting 3 or 4,
I think he means starters . I think we need 5 or 6. RB, LB, Centre mid, right wing and striker. And a number 10, that could be Alcaraz

We could sign 1 player and he could be enough to win us the title.

But he would need to be Messi, at 23.

Im sure Moyes is aware of how many players we have out of contract in the Summer and I can assure EVERYBODY we will make more than 4 signings.

No we definitely will buy more than 4, but the rest could be squad fillers/young players. The odd loan maybe

If he truly loves Everton like he claims, he should have no issue signing on reduced wages. He would be useful as a squad player but I'm hoping we move on.

…he’s a professional footballer with a team of advisors and representatives, these fella’s are like a PLC. He’ll get the best deal he can possibly get even if staying here is his preference.

It could be his last big contract, he’ll want it to be a good one.

I hardly think they'll be queuing up to pay him a fortune, as he's a number 10 who barely scores.

It will be only be Saudi. He’s not getting even close to 100k anywhere else, it will only be bang average teams abroad interested and championship/bottom 6 prem teams in England

Hopefully one or two youngsters step up to the first team squad as well.
There was a young right back who got a game earlier in the season but he seems to have disappeared now

…he’s a CM who can be effective in any central position, he’s obviously not a conventional no10 but I think it was 20 points gained from games he scored in last season.

I know he’s not widely rated on here but successive managers see him as vital to the team for a reason. If he immediately gets his place back this weekend it will tell us lots. I’ll be happy when he’s not one of the first names on the team sheet but I fully understand why he is.
