2023/24 Abdoulaye Doucoure

We weren’t dead and buried, we were one win from safety, yes we managed to stay up again by the skin of our Teeth, that’s the reason he got the job because we were in the position we were. He did what he had to do, but let’s not make out he was a miracle worker.
But we should also not make out that without a points deduction we would be sitting pretty in 12th.

Is anyone saying that? He’s done a good job under very difficult circumstance. Let’s not forget we should be sitting in 12th place on 27 points now.

Doucoure was decent under Ancelotti. Our nose dive down the table towards the end of Ancelotti’s last season coincided with an injury to Doucoure.
He was, but he was an absolute water carrier and nothing more, because Ancelotti saw his strengths (in the setup he wanted to play of course).

Not saying it's not an important quality or anything like that, just that for certain setups he has limitations - for example when ball retention and forward passing is required.
Wasn't it under Carlo that pundits were saying what a good job he'd done, getting the best out of Doucs when he'd scored a few goals when we had a good start to the season? Sure I remember that.

Guess he got a reaction after the Villa game.

He's going to be a miss for Fulham and Spurs with the quality those two have in midfield.

Onana-Garner is alright....but not as the only two centrally.
