It wasn’t the question but it was the outcome. Yes, he left a handsomely paid Liverpool contract in favour of a Saudi contract reportedly worth 52 million pound per year. But fast forward 12 weeks and he’s begging to leave, and accepting a contract that is likely to be less than what he was on at Liverpool.
