Having a good defensive mid is pretty much essential if you want to win Titles

Vardy and Mahrez wouldn't have scored those goals without him making those tackles to begin with

You can't have one without the other. Without Kante controlling the middle of the park Vardy and Mahrez don't get the chance to score and thus don't. The fact neither have been as good since no longer sharing a pitch with him says it all (As does the fact Leicester have won nothing since he left, even with Vardy still on the books)

All the best sides to win something have had a defensive midfielder

Yeah like I said you need balance, but goals are far more important because they win matches. And back on topic, our issue is lack of goals

You need the odd player that you'll sign just to be back up, but ideally you want a lot of first team level lads in the squad so that they all compete for a place. It instills the right attitude

He's not going to come here unless he thinks he can earn a spot in the starting line up. If he comes here, it won't be to collect a pay cheque and sit on a bench, it will be to force his way into the team, which can only be a good thing. Get the lads pushing themselves because they know they can lose their place if they don't
