Alright mate, but still... Give the guy an extended chance, he was more than decent for us when we didn't have to patch up the team with freeloaders.

I just worry that James would have to play slightly too far back from what suits him and that the defensive game for the position that would really just have to be positional and occupying space would be too much for him.

The idea of Gomes is great because he is that player but unfortunately he only seems to show up a handful of times a season

I think he'd be fine - the role doesn't require as much discipline as the right side does, and if we had a front three he'd have a field day to pick them out, link them all together etc. The opposition would have to put someone on him as well, which would make the job of Allan and Doucs easier.

Don’t blame other player for his abject performances. He can still show some heart regardless of what others are doing

He’s struggling at the moment, I think he’ll be ok here in the long run though. There is certainly a need for some athleticism in our midfield and I think he can provide that.

Unlike Gylfi he actually showed he can play his role, 3 games ago you were drooling over him. Both him and Allan can't run and cover consistently for 3 people infront and 2 behind the whole game.

It worked with Richy in team cause of his immense work rate. It even worked with Gomes cause he may not do much, but even his workrate is greater than Gylfi's.

As crap as Gylfi is, I’ve seen nothing as bad as Gomes last week. Walking around as if he’d taken ketamine before the game.
