We've been told he's a one in every six player yet he's been two out of three so far for us. Passing isn't the best but his athleticism has already bailed us out on a few occasions when the opposition have been on the counter.

Same. He wants to win. And thats huge as we had players last few seasons who were not arsed about that.

He has been more of a donkey these past two games than against Spurs, but he’s been a good donkey. The amount of times he and Allan will save us on counter attacks is invaluable.

Him and Gomes will get overlooked a lot this season, but they both do a great job in the middle for me.

He reminds me of McCarthy when he was in form. Literally everywhere on the pitch and willing to join the attack and carry the ball forward as well as defend, make those last ditch tackles, etc. glue player

Brilliant at times today but if Davies played some of his passing today he would be called all sorts. Hopefully he can improve that.

I thought he was poor today, until he tracked Zaha back after our corner, and stopped Palace breaking. Seemed to grow in confidence and get involved more afterwards.

Thought he was our poorest layer first half. Looked like he’d forgotten how to control the ball, kept popping up in the air. Also played two blind passes on the right hand side right across the pitch, both got cut out and a better side could have punished that. Second half, different player, his run to cover Zaha from the corner and tackle was a particular highlight. Grew into the game.

Perfect summary.

Our three midfielders aren't having perfect games but the benefit of having 3 good players there is that while one is having a poor first half (Doucoure), Gomes looked lively, and then Doucoure stepped up second half.

Also would like to say that I just like quick players in the middle. You notice it big time when all you have are slowpokes

Pretty understated in what he does, but I certainly appreciate it!

Loved it when a stay pass got given to Zaha and he zooms in sprints 50 yards, doesn’t make the tackle, but keeps him shepherded long enough for backup to come and it ends up being no trouble at all. In last years side, that’s a goal.

Thought he was really poor first half but then second half he really showed his recovery and tracking skills

He has his role and plays it well. Love it if he kicks on and becomes a proper attacking threat
