He was very decent after Pearson arrived, playing in a role behind Deeney.

Think he struggled post-lockdown and Watford's form obviously went with it.

At £35m we aren't buying him. Teams know we're desperate to get players in for the first game. As per usual, our signings will be closer to the end of the window.
So, we might have to start the season with the dross we have currently have in centre midfield. I hope not, obviously.

Given they're relegated it would not be good business. They have little leverage. And he's not that good.

I suspect, like a lot of deals it will get done later, for below £25m. Maybe they go and negotiate a different deal for another player, and give Watford an ultimatum.

Sky giving a random update that we’re still in talks for Doucoure. Watford want £35m and we’re well apart in our valuation.

They’re never getting £35m for him, be closer to £25m if a deal gets done I’m sure. That’d be good business. I trust Brands to get it done properly, and if they won’t budge that’s on them.

I wonder if other clubs look at Everton like a lion looks at a buffalo.
