this! This pattern has shown itself so often recently. One thing I reckon is the players are not necessarily pushing the move through so more higher profile clubs can pay less sometimes as the player themselves is making it known he wants to move.. (I look at Bayern here who pick up bargain
the other thing that’s bugging is that the recent links to potential first team starters isn’t showing much creativity. Going for players previously managed.. look sometimes it’s a good move, but it’s still after the horse has bolted on the price.
Even the latest Ocampos rumour is a prime example. Cost Sevilla €15m.. a year later we would have to pay double or more...
Got no issue with the Allan or Doucouré rumors..good players and I feel they would compliment each other... just don’t overly interest me as don’t feel likes it’s challenged our managements thinking...
Curiously the club has been far better at showing foresight with regard defenders...
I’m honestly concerned the attraction of Everton is at an all time low. Do players see us as any different to Wolves .. I doubt it. And that’s a shocker! That could be where this premium is coming from.. then we always want to sell our players on the cheap because they rubbish. Our worst should still be better than some of the best in clubs in the bottom 10.. and be worth something .. but we just want to get rid. Anyway.. I’m going off a little here.. but admittedly feeling a little frustrated at how this transfer season is panning out... more because I’m finding it all a little dull not because the names are poor players.
