Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Boy was that a ropey performance though. Couldn't keep the ball to save our lives. Still, 3 points against City away is a good result. Hopefully this'll be the springboard at last. Funny though as we've played much better than that and not got a result this season.

To be fair defending away to a team with possibly the best attacking options in the league -- when you're winning 2-0 -- and then especially when you go down to 10 men, is understandable. We defended very well, too.

Great goals as well. Baines and Cahill make me want to cream my pants. Again.

It's hard to get past these positives:

  • We were resolute
  • Showed great spirit
  • Took the goals well
The rest was pretty much nothing as a creative force, we were too timid against a pretty fragile City defence.

Birmingham now need to be swept aside. 14th at the season halfway point is not acceptable.

Going down to 10 did not help at all. Moyes was going to bring Saha on, and I could have defo seen another from us.

Timmy H has lost us a few points this season, but he kept two for us there.

We showed great team spirit, great toughness and great defending (Although scrappy at times)

Yeah, we gave away the ball a lot, but when your chasing the ball and defending for an hour and even more so for the 30 mins where we had ten men you get awfully tired.

Is there a reoccuring thing where Moyes can get the players all fired up and to do their jobs to a tee against teams most pundits and fans think we'll get turned over against....but when it comes down to Wigan's of this world, he gets a bit lost?

Saha did well when he came on, held the ball up and relieved a bit of the pressure on the defence. Like I say, a win is a win and hopefully it acts as a springboard but that was a mile away from our performance against City at the same time last season.

It was a typical dogged Moyes performance, we need more of being resolute and getting the result.

Still, as davek said, there's a long way to go before I'll be happy with this season.

i thought we got lucky. defend a lead by trying to keep the ball, not kicking it straight back to the opposition.

It's certainly strange that a team which is unbeaten in games against Chelsea, Utd, rs, Spurs and City (3 of them away from home) are as low as we are in the league.
Sort it lads
