A little bit of praise

We also had our highest ever PL points total last season. He deserves the chance to turn this around. He has earn't it.
Re available managers thatr would be willing, can you think of any?

He also has the record of being the only Everton manager in history to get us knocked out of both domestic competitions at the first round on entry.

just saying.

I would go and get koeman if it was down to me.
But there are still loads of quality managers around the world who would want and could do a good job for us

don't think we should be praising anyone in the current circumstances. I think a lot of work has to be done to win back the fans faith, all staff. The way we are playing and our forn is nor praiseworthy in any way shape or form, not a chance.

I like him but he's badly doing my head in is Bobby.

When he came in and was spouting loads about making us boss again, putting loads of pictures of past successes around FF and trying to make us embrace our history, I really started to BELIEVE man...

Now I don't even know what to think, most conflicted about an Everton topic i've been in ages.

I actually think it might be a speed thing.
The type of game Martinez wants to play has a specific tempo, any slower than that (through lack of confidence etc) then we get closed down and it spirals. Any quicker than that tempo then passes get missed and possession never gets anywhere. I think McCarthy actually naturally plays at Bobby's ideal Tempo which sets the rhythm for the rest of the team and it's why we struggle without him.

It was noticeable from the first West Ham game that we were trying to get the tempo up, and when we did we started to look our old selves again. Unfortunately without McCarthy our tempo is too inconsistent. I don't actually think we are doing anything wrong as such, but it's not working. It's either going to have to change or we get our Ginger timekeeper back to make it work.
There was a batch of stats reported in one of the papers, which proved that we are signficantly slower than last season. Blowed if I can find it, but it would back up your post which, I believe, hits the nail on the head. When the players are confident enough to ping the ball about quickly, they stand a chance of working it through the opposition. When they dither, the other lot pounce. When Martinez first arrived, IIRC, he was talking about giving players confidence to hold the ball and pick a pass, rather than just hoof it to safety. It appears that, now that confidence is in short supply, a less elegant approach is required.

I want Moyes back. He would know what to do. He might even relish the prospect of a budget £30m+ per annum more than he had before.

Worrying isn't it

Looking at Burnley/Newcastle/Sunderland/Leicester home games and Swansea/Villa/Palace/QPR/Stoke/West Ham for the away's were you would look at picking points up

I see 12 points from them at the moment

Games that we'd normally feel confident going into have taken on a whole new complexion

I give it two games before we all start looking at other team's run ins.... And then brick it :)

Last year the style of play was effective, we had teams on the back foot from the off. This year its the opposite, teams now how to nullify our threats so aren't scared at all.

I still believe it boils down to a very poor pre season and bad preparation, every team needs flexibility, we change players but not the system. And it hasn't worked

Exactly, it is going to start to get to that point where the top teams put in extra effort to claim European places, and the lower teams start fighting for their lives. We do not look like we have any fight in us whatsoever. With such congestion down the bottom, there's going to be a really high quantity of 'six-pointers', and we seem to be terrible at getting the most from these games so far this season.

He's been abysmal this season.

Even the prophet across the park was willing to adapt his 'philosophy' when his players were struggling, but not our Bobby Brown Shoes.

Fiddling while Rome burns.

He's got one win in 13 competitive games.

If they were the first 13 league games of the season he'd be rightly frog marched out the door.

Things are baaaaaaaaaaaaad.
