A Defence for Koeman?

..I think the concern is the manner of the defeats, and more specifically we don't look a balanced team and we carry little threat. Hopefully that situation changes.
You hit the nail on the head after a couple of EL qualifiers mate. Koeman needs to find a formation and system that works for this group of players, and sometimes this happens by accident. At the moment, he is trying to fit all his best players on the pitch at the same time, and with good players you can probably get away with that against the lesser teams, but not against the better teams as we have seen. I do expect our results to improve but we are not going to impact those above us with the current set up. The problem is, I don't see the manager changing. I think he'll continue to put out his "best players" in the hope that they will finally gel, which they may do against teams that park the bus. But overall, I think the gap between us and those above is going to get wider this season, not narrower.

I have been an advocate for Koeman to be removed since this bad run of form, but on reflection I think he deserves some time to turn this mess around.

He must show an ability to adapt his game plan, though. We're boring as hell to watch.

I don't think he'll be manager next season regardless. He isn't going to be given a new contract and Moshiri isnt going to give a transfer budget to a manager with only a year to go.

I reckon this is definitely the last season of Koeman for Everton. I just hope he leaves behind some solid foundations for the next manager to build on.

Martinez built us on quicksand.

No one really expected everton to get any results in the 1st few fixtures the manner of the defeats though was something else
the true test will be the up coming games at home if the games pan out the same no effort no passion Ronald will be on thin ice

Poor squad selection again from Koeman:
-Stop playing Gylfi and Wayne as wingers. This idiocy is unforgivable at this point.
-Never play Gueye and Schneiderlin together; unless away from home with miles of pace in front.
-DCL performs best in a front 2, the additional attacker creates space for him to get in behind.

Robbie Savage's today article...he is not wrong though.

Robbie Savage hasn't had to sit and watch Everton most games this season, most Everton fans don't want Ronnie out yet,
those who do don't want him out because of poor results but for the utterly dire performances and setting up not to lose above everything else. Savage is just writing an article which earns him money, he is not concerned with Everton, he doesn't remotely feel for the club like we do.

I, as an Ajax fan, am a big fan of Koeman but right now he isnt doing what he is supposed to for Everton. I'm missing the attacking style that Koeman is famous for here in the Netherlands. Yeah sure, Lukaku leaving wont help either but you attack with a whole team and not with one player. Not that i expected points in games against City, United, Tottenham and Chelsea but they should have at least won from Atalanta. Hopefully he can turn around this bad streak and still finish 5th and make it to the KO stage of the EL.

What do you think of Davy Klaassen mate? A lot of us over here are unsure about him but heard he was great in the Dutch league, do you think he has what it takes to adjust to the Premier League? I get the impression it will take him some time to settle in but once he does he could be a good player for us in the right system

Who are we finishing above to make 5th?
