Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
Iv been made head of my department at my job about 2 months ago. And the CEO is very happy with the work/changes iv made so far. And everything seems to be going well. Thing is iv had a vision of how things need to be ran in my department, but it's a radical change to how things have gone over the last 18 months (which has been pretty [Poor language removed]). I know it's the way forward for the company but i need to get it across in the right way.

Im doing a presentation this afternoon to a few Bosses and all my staff (about 25).

Any ideas on how to get this right???

Iv got till about 15:30 so be quick gang..!!

Do not be rapid, do not be explosive, try to build up a story towards what you require, and do not waffle.

Create a storyline. Try to make your point into a series of short episodes and get everybody involved. Then they will arrive at the same resultant point you create for them. Never sound like the preacher, get everybody involved and control them within yourself. (Think a game of chess and work 4 moves minimum in advance/anticipate the potential questions that could arise, question your own points first)

Best way I can help you in a short time mate. Sorry . Should have given me more notice.

That's just what I'm after, thanks Gaz. because Most are going to be bewildered at what I'm about to tell them.

1 ; Powerpoint .
2 ; The word , Proactive , being inserted into EVERY third sentence .
3 ; SHOW them how much you've sold out to the Capitalist Ethos . Wear a Maggie was the REAL Queen , T Shirt .

Good Luck , Comrade .

Bit late, so sorry about that, but as Gaz says, stories are a fantastic way of getting the message across. I've got a great matrix suggesting the kind of stories to use at various stages of your presentation that I'm happy to mail over if you want for future reference.

When my 'Arl man took the head of production and manufacturing job from his 'arl man he cut jobs by 80% and increased productivity four fold.

The tip is to not be afraid to make cuts or move people about.

Have a vision and make it real.

Well all, it went beyond well. The CEO loved my idea and has told me he would back me with a big budget. Its a radical plan but i totally believe in what i have put together. i got a small round of applause from the 30 or so staff that were in the room. Great day. I really have a vision of where my department need to go to prosper and i wont stop till i full-fill what i have put forward...
