A bit of perspective.....

WE SHOULD BE 3rd, ONLY GASH TEAMS DRAW.

I agree with the sentiment that you make your own luck. Newcastle and Fulham were games that we needed to see out. In most cases where we've dropped points we've started off slowly and handed the initiative to the opposition. If we hadn't conceded those sloppy goals then we wouldn't be bemoaning decisions later in the game that cost us a win.

The officials didn't actually cost us a win against Newcastle either. They cost us a 2-1 lead which we eventually got in the 87th or something minute but still failed to hold onto that lead due to bad defending.

They only cost us the first against wigan but bad defending cost us the second.

The main thing that's been pleasing is the attitude of the players to keep playing football whether we're winning, drawing or losing. That kind of self-belief is something we haven't had before under Moyes. Even with Arteta dominating every midfield in the world we very often used to get frustrated if we couldn't break teams down, or resort to desperate tactics if we went a goal behind. Now we're keeping going physically, coping with **** players' hustle and bustle by passing around them and nearly always getting goals as a result.

It's about the start I'd expect from the players we've got, good play in the main but perhaps not enough individual quality to rack up win after win.

When you consider we're playing with effectively 10 men each week the performances have been outstanding apart from QPR.

Just for another bit of perspective though, you know that Hibbert or Neville is playing right back next week now.

A lot of teams slipped up today, as someone said earlier we had a huge slice of luck last week, today wasn't our day but I'm super confident that we will be able to beat Sunderland at home. Gibson will be back also.

will he be back? Thought he was coming back about 6 weeks ago but still no sign. Plus moyes will not put him straight back in due to lack of playing time, you all know how cautious he is.

Not seen the match but reading the reports here is that we should have got the 3 points.

I am disappointed that we didn't win and this could cost us later in the year because we will face more harder teams.

However I am also pleased that we are in the top 4 with team we have got and if anyone had said last August this is where Everton would be I would have laughed. This has been a great start.

I can see us raising our game against the big teams but the one thing that worries me is the lack of ruthlessness and determination in the team. Can you honestly see us doing what Arsenal did midweek and turning a 4-0 deficit into a 2 goal winning margin?

We are playing some beautiful stuff but our players need to develop that killer instinct. Hopefully Jelavic will find his shooting boots in the latter half of the season and Moyes will bring in a midfielder with the steel and drive of a Peter Reid. Or is that just wishful thinking?

No. Even though it happens every week, I really can't see our team of misfits doing that.
