A bit of perspective.....

-Spurs and Sunderland will certainly be more disappointed than us.
-United were the only team in the top half of the table to record a win today.
-Only City have lost fewer games than us.
-We have won as many matches as Arsenal.
-We're the only team in the top 10 to have played more away games than home games so far.
-We've scored more than City, Arsenal and Spurs.
-We've conceded fewer than United and Tottenham.
-Fellaini has now scored as many as Dzeko, Defoe and Fletcher.
-Fulham beat Norwich 5-0 and West Brom 3-0 at Craven Cottage. They narrowly lost 3-2 to United and 2-1 to City.

This made me surprisingly happy before going out, thank you very much sir. Were gonna win the title lads, don't worry!

Posted this in another tread aswell, but meh.

This is my short review on the season so far.

v Man Utd - Fair win
v Aston Villa - Fair win
v West Brom - Fair loss
v Newcastle - Draw, robbed by the ref (+2 points)
v Swansea - Fair win
v Southampton - Fair win
v Wigan - Draw, robbed by the ref (+2 points)
v QPR - Fair draw
v Liverpool - Draw was a fair result, but lucky in overtime (-1 point)
v Fulham - Deserved to win, but the ref didn't rob us. Unlucky. (+2 points)

We would be 3rd in the league with 5 more points if it wasn't for our incredibly bad luck so far. If our luck turns, and we win/draw games we don't deserve to win/draw, we can finish in top 4. We are playing great and have no reason to be unhappy with the first 10 games.

Our next matches are Sunderland (H), Reading (A), Norwich (H), Arsenal (H). I can easily see us getting 9 or 10 points from those matches. December month looks tough, and that's when we really need to prove that we belong where we are on the table at the moment. ...And we all know we're great fron January and beyond.

get neville out of the midfield instead of gibson and we will be conceding less, gibson will backtrack the right runners from midfield and probably install confidence in the defence. Good OP brenan, we've made a mockery of a very hard premier league game here and a lot of teams aren't coping with us this season. Europe at the least this season i believe and i'm bookmarking the norwich game for when we hit them for 5, we will rip them to shreds and probably go and put another 4 past reading - here's hoping and partly expecting

i think we can get 12, it's very realistic - don't like us playing reading though, always have a bad feeling about it. Anyway, think we can rip arsenal's full backs to shreds, hopefully szchesney will be out coz manonne looks very suspect (despite a decent performance today)

I agree with the sentiment that you make your own luck. Newcastle and Fulham were games that we needed to see out. In most cases where we've dropped points we've started off slowly and handed the initiative to the opposition. If we hadn't conceded those sloppy goals then we wouldn't be bemoaning decisions later in the game that cost us a win.

Perspective is right....was getting a bit worried about our form after the 3 recent draws, but not after today. That was an absolute pasting we gave them. With everyone back including Gibbo, we are more than a match for any team in the PL.

Alright, parrot boy... :P

can go both ways, you can counter that argument by saying we actually score 4 perfectly good goals - regardless of the chances we wasted - more than enough to win the game

also how we're below man city with the tripe they've played i'll never know. it will come with experience, once this team gets the habbit of winning games together consistantly there'll be no stopping us. It's how man city are on top of us, they've been keeping that winning mentality and are winning games they don't deserve to which they learned from last season when they won games they deserved to. Same with man utd over the years

The main thing that's been pleasing is the attitude of the players to keep playing football whether we're winning, drawing or losing. That kind of self-belief is something we haven't had before under Moyes. Even with Arteta dominating every midfield in the world we very often used to get frustrated if we couldn't break teams down, or resort to desperate tactics if we went a goal behind. Now we're keeping going physically, coping with **** players' hustle and bustle by passing around them and nearly always getting goals as a result.

It's about the start I'd expect from the players we've got, good play in the main but perhaps not enough individual quality to rack up win after win.

Brownz is wise

Amazing how the plea for "a little perspective" comes out after a result like this, made worse by a needless negative substitution that unsettled the defence at precisely the wrong moment. It's make-excuses time for the manager. I don't recall anything like this after we beat United.

So you're unhappy we're 4th and only lost once this season and playing like Barca lad?

Jesus wept.
