There's a bit of talk at the moment that this team is our best side of the Premiership-era.

Is it really?

My own vote goes to the 08/09 vintage...but it's extremely close between all 4!

07/08 (not 08/09). Jagielka and Lescott just looked unbeatable, Lescott scored 10 goals, Yaks smile made everyone happy - and his 21 goals did too

07/08 was a better team than 08/09. We had a good run in Europe, semi-finals of League Cup, finished 5th and absolutely battered a few teams; 7-1 Sunderland and 8-1 SK Brann on agg. Yakubu scored 21 goals, Lescott was in double figures, Jags was brilliant, Arteta was in his prime etc.

04-05

4th - 61 points. Out of league cup in 3rd round and fa cup in 3rd round, too

08-09

5th - 63 points. Runner up in the fa cup, out in first round in uefa and 2nd in league cup.

12-13

6th - 59 points with 3 games left. QF in the fa cup, 2nd round in league cup.

5th - 65 points. Semi final of league cup, round of 16 in uefa, first round in fa cup.

95/96 had potential, 04/05 was just consistent and 12/13 has been unconsistent.

08/09 was a special team, Lescott, Cahill, Arteta and Pienaar were really good that season, fantastic FA Cup run too. That gets my vote.

It's depressing realising thats the accomplishments of the best teams we've produced in 20 years, 4th and 5th places and a few semi finals.

Yes they achieved something fantastic, but in terms of ability it wasn't close to this season's team.
