7th -> EL what does it take

Are we now though? Aren't we limited by wage ceilings? We can move players in and out and hope they are an upgrade, but that will be incremental and nowhere near enough to cope with a potential 30% increase in games.

That was last summer though this summer we have no debt. Also an increase in revenue from the nameing rights of finch farm and a new shirt sponsor deal worth about 300% more. A higher leauge placing which in this leauge is even if its only 4 places is still a deacent amount. Add to that the selling and release of players in the summer then I'm sure we'll make ffp

Moving players in and out isn't always in our favour. What if Lukaku is sold this summer? What if Barkley is?

We won't end up with a large squad full of quality players that can fulfil the duties of four competitions.

But we are where we are. When next season spins around there is no excuses whatsoever for PL placing if we don't progress. That's the bottom line now. If the manager and players want that EL competition then they take the responsibility for taking care of business in the PL too.

Agreed.

The PL is all that matters, so try not to moan when we exit both cups in January again then, theres a good fella.

We will have to a much deeper and bigger squad than the last time we competed. We already have more quality midfielders than playing time available and if we really want the kids to come through we need as many matches as possible for rotation. There is no downside that I can see.

EL on a shoestring budget with a suspect squad is dangerous, but with Mosh's dosh and a few more incomings, let's be having Europe.

With today happening, and without being disrespectful to Middlesbrough, Millwall and Lincoln... I think this is now ours to throw away. I really do.

Now the question is, will we be too strong for West Brom, I'd say yes. They've been in boss form themselves, but they do have Us, City and United away, and Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea at home.

4 points clear, 11 goals better on GD, surely we have the ability to seal this.

14th July, put it in your diaries. I'll be in Bratislava ready to book my flights, so come on Ev, don't let us down.

Classic six pointer next up at Goodison decides it? We'll likely be 1 point ahead going into that match.

Thats the optimism! Haven't lost in the league since the derby! We've got a great chance of maintaining that I think.
I'm very optimistic mate. If after playing them next week we are still above them, I think they are due a from drop so we have the upper hand.

I was refering to the likes of cleverly, naisse and mcgeedy. The deadwood is what i mean. Then build and improve on what we have.

The days of us selling to buy are behind us now.

Mate, we had to sell Stones to kick start our summer spending just 8 months ago.

Don't fall, for the spin. Judge this new lot by hard facts.

I think we need in the region of 63 points to see off West Brom which is 19 more, 5 wins 4 draws or 6 wins 1 draw which I think are achievable given out remaining fixtures. If West Brom manage to get 24 points from there last 12 with the fixtures they've got then they deserve it.

Depends what you class as signings we had to spend around 20 mil on managment before we could get players in. Also spent 35 mil in january before we sold anyone.

Dave I agree that I'm yet to be convinced that we are going to be spending 100's of millions like some fans think. We have spent around £100 million on players and management in two transfer windows, regardless of player sales. We are now debt free and are on the cusp of getting a new stadium.

An you know what I'm happy with that. It wasnt too long ago that we went 4 transfer windows being unable to buy any player. We are moving in the right direction and it feels like we might be able to actually compete with the teams around us

Two things:

the debt has changed, not been wiped out. EFC will pay that money to Moshiri
the cash spent has been generated by player sales and TV revenue - Kenwright could have overseen that
