I used to believe that too.
But I think we are projecting too much hope on the stadium .
Its financial uplift will not alone provide enough to restore our fortunes.
More importantly, it will have to be paid for, a fact that will limit our spending power for some years ahead.
It will also lead to a hefty rise in ticket prices.
I wonder how many people will continue to pay the higher prices to watch endless mid table football at best.
From being an advocate and a supporter of the move , I now wish we were remaining at Goodison.
We had to move mate as Goodison would no longer get a safety certificate Bill told us.
As for the move to BMD I think it represents our only possibility ( all but a slim one) of remaining relevant. Goodison should have been upgraded years ago but because of the people running the club all we ever did was give it a new lick of paint.
The ground is falling apart now we had option but to move.Any excitement about the move to BMD has completely gone for me as the whole existence of the club is under threat now.
