I think one particular poster needs a pointing in the right direction. Is this the Chelsea forum?
37m for a Lukaku in his early 30ās from an Italian team struggling with finances as recently as last summer seems extremely unlikely. Surely he will be off to SaudiThatās spell check for you.
The suggestion is circa £20 million . Lukaku as I say any fee will be way below £98 million we are said to have paid the straight line book value ( without knowing if any of his residue value impaired ) is around £40 come seasons end . Loss in one sense is inevitable but in accounting terms from what is rumoured their is some loose agreement in place with Roma for around £37 million .
Contracts in excess of 5 years arenāt unique to Chelsea you would be surprised if you look around just how many there are even in England . As I said before I am far from convinced and yes amortisation is a major factor but I donāt think itās the only consideration
It is far more common place in Spain clubs like Real in particular sign younger players on long contracts .
To be fair I wouldnāt pay Ā£1.75 for him but all sorts of things were adjusted to get him to Roma37m for a Lukaku in his early 30ās from an Italian team struggling with finances as recently as last summer seems extremely unlikely. Surely he will be off to Saudi
Buy one, get one free. Two small issues I see for Chelsea
Who is offering big money for those players?
And why would they offer big money if they know Chelsea have to sell?
A la Brazil's international number 9 striker for £50m from Everton. Had it been sold from Liverpool it'd have been £80m.Two small issues I see for Chelsea

They should have just hit the reset button during covid. The league not taking into account current world events has caused this to all reach a boiling point. If they had been more transparent during Covid with the rules in general, I donāt think many if any of the clubs would have breached apart from the ones that can bend the rules and get away with it. They either have to let us off the hook or hit every club that breached. Do they really want to deal with all those legal cases?
Exactly what I said back then. They completely messed up when they āapprovedā extra spending. That was a disasterThey should have just hit the reset button during covid.
Yawn.Thatās spell check for you.

Roma were desperate last summer. Next summer Abraham will be available again. They are not spending Ā£30m + on a 32 year old RomTo be fair I wouldnāt pay Ā£1.75 for him but all sorts of things were adjusted to get him to Roma
1) Roma paid a loan fee if £7-8 million
2) He re negotiated the last three years of his deal taking a pay cut so he could go on loan . Roma are paying all his wages.
3) Agreed a figure he could be bought out of his contract for hence why the £37 million figure has been floated
Romas finances are poor but have improved. Lukaku was said to be close to a transfer to Saudi last season but he didnāt fancy it but if he canāt get a move to Italy then Saudi would an option
